With Trip to Sanity, Berlin-based producer, DJ, live performer, and Stil vor Talent label head Oliver Koletzki presents a milestone in his 36-year long musical career and his 18-year tenure at the top of global electronic nightlife -- his tenth studio album. The album's title, Trip to Sanity -- a reference to the classic German children's story of the little dragon "Tabaluga" -- reflects Oliver's own path as a DJ within the world of club culture. In South Africa, Oliver wrote most of Trip to Sanity in the winter, then flashed out and finalized the tracks in his studio at Kreuzberg's Holzmarkt. Within the last 18 months a collection of complex and varied songs formed, which, typical for Oliver's collaborative approach, were often created in cooperation with musicians like techno-pop legend Fritz Kalkbrenner, Burning Man chance encounter Talmirage, scene friends Andhim, Hidden Empire, Oliver Klostermann, and Niko Schwind, or the exceptional voices Natascha Polké, Malou, LOLY, and Marlena Dae. The result is a rollercoaster ride through a diverse spectrum of dance music, effortlessly held together by Koletzki's unmistakable sound signature and his intrinsic sense for the exact tension between hedonistic dancefloor focus and poppy earworm impact.

Following in the footsteps of Mind Palace and Lost Spirits, respectively issued in 2018 and 2021, Hidden Empire return to Stil vor Talent with their eagerly anticipated third studio full-length, Momentum. Going the same route that came to define their sound throughout the years, Branko Novakovic and Niklas Schäfers cook a savvy mix of deep electroid flavors and prog techno magnitude which flourishes in the long-playing format. Orbiting the frontier between proper no-nonsense, floor-focused effectiveness and a trademark exploratory take on electronics, Hidden Empire here delivers one of their most accomplished slices to date, which not only spans the largest span of their many-faceted influences, from tribal anchorage to hypermodern escapology, but breathes a truly epic wind into it. Featuring Felix Raphael on vocals, "Who We Are", is a pop-influenced chugger that perhaps best defines Hidden Empire's ambivalent style, both hi-NRG and innervated with a melancholy that infuses down to the bass and most functional elements. Geared up for big-room traction with its seesawing synths and clinical drumwork, Raphael's moving timbre does more than offer a sensible counterpoint to the track's overall sturdy backbone, it takes it to a whole other dimension completely. "Repeat The Good" featuring Wolfson balances out a fast-ticking groove with those subtle melodic lines Hidden Empire champion to astounding vibrancy, offering a particularly satisfying glimpse into their vortical imaginarium, whereas "Last Call" has you journeying to straight out Moroder-esque territories, flush with the aptly configured palette of fuzzy space disco bass, fast-paced Italo churn, and vocoder talk for good measure. Encompassing all of the pair's idiosyncratic merger of styles -- from pop-laced Italo to spaced-out techno wares, through jagged motorik and heavily mecched-out jacking house, "Alright" shows off Hidden Empire's wide arsenal of pyrotechnics under the most compelling of lights. A more openly jagged and quirky weapon that hatches into a full-fledged solar number around the half, "Momentum" roars up the club's highway at full throttle. A stroboscopic eclipse is predicted as "Dark Sun" enters the room. Its brittle piano lines and heart-wrenching vocals cutting a path into the crowd's pulsating hearts. Graceful as Hidden Empire's music can be, a moment of utter exhilarating beauty. A piece of elusive nature, clearly designed for the club and yet telling a tale of off-piste initiation through twelve fascinating movements, Momentum will undoubtedly etch on the listeners' mind as one of the German pair's most strikingly powerful emanations. Includes download code with full 13 track album.

Following up to his maiden transmission for the label, Cosmic Silence, issued in 2022, Italian producer Alessandro Cozzolino AKA Cioz resurfaces on Stil vor Talent with his longed-for debut album Supermassive Whole, a ten-track cosmic odyssey in sound percolating staple elements of Cioz's palette of choice, from otherworldly techno to Latin-inflected house, via the obvious injection of kosmische and electronica soundscaping. The lead single "Wachaka" -- recorded in collaboration with Cape Town producer Ryan Murgatroyd, exemplifies Cozzolino's electrifying approach to a T. An inch-perfectly balanced mix of Afro-infused polyrhythmic bravura and seesawing synth moves, the track swells with a blazing fire at heart that keeps on sprawling infectiously with each and every bar. Trading the linear buildup for most sensuous levels of syncopation, "Me Monkey" serves up a warmer kind of funk, perfect for getting snug and cozy before an avalanche of seesawing chords up the ante towards space-opera-esque amplitude. All in elusive sinuosity and processed machine talk, "Harakat" dwells the confines of wonky house templates and polyamorous EBM, while "I Always Wanted To..." goes the slo-burning, counterclockwise route, primed for languid moments in the alcove. "B1" is perhaps the most spitting avatar of the Italian whiz's hybrid rolling-and-pounding rhythmic style, nicely embodying both its quirky, hip-swaying and fanfare-like percussive aspects. The ecstatically bouncy "Do It The Way You Feel" showcases Cioz's more rousing, floor-friendly facet with a killer combo of hi-octane electro dynamics, pop-rock motif'd hooks and slashing breaks taking the controls. The mood also happens to be melancholic at times, such as on the beautifully understated "Is This Real", which bridges the gap betwixt piano-house déjà-vu - here tweaked to distinctively soul-wrenching effect, and a prog buildup glossed under a thick sauce of FX, similar to that of the inflating saturation of "Sudpol Birgit" in the post-prod treatment. Somewhat brushed with Balearic shades in mind, "Pace e Amore" follows a more classic curve, slowly veering off onto ambient-laced territories, while "Lost in Space" evokes a certain idea of gravity-defying plenitude through that ever intuitive and subtly arranged collage of tender wistfulness and endless attraction towards the groove, which defines Cozzolino's phraseology so fittingly.

The versatile debut full-length offering from Tel-Aviv-based producer Kadosh on Stil vor Talent, Unanimously. Bridging the club universe with that of deeper, further immersive off-floor narratives, Kadosh entices you down a compelling path of rhythmic enlightenment and all-embracing togetherness. Casting mutable strains of EBM, house, pop and exotica entangled in one dizzying polyphony throughout the album, the Israeli vibist has us surfing our way across his musical headspace effortlessly. From the stealth, neo-noir-like opening sequence of "Interstellar" featuring Marc Piñol to the epic Luso-Italo vibrations of "Sandcastles" featuring vocal hoodooist Abrão, via the exquisite Afro-informed piano house and all-round atmospheric luxuriance of "My Mind" featuring Floyd Lavine and Erika Krall's supremely smooth yet characterful timbre, Kadosh swings the pendulum with constant surprise and bravura. Aside from his compositions' obvious hooking nature, there's also great lots of textural back funk to dive in at every corner. Hauntingly transporting, "From Jaffa to Frederichshain" featuring Upon You's Marco Resmann works a more jagged programming, flush with big-room reverbs and muted drums, while the slo-evolving "Pronto" featuring Emanuel Satie morphs from a low-key DJ tool into a full-fledged, melancholy-charged peak-time burner. Bearing both Kadosh and David Mayer's signature, "1999" lets the '80s-inherited arsenal of iridescent Casio synths and lashing percussions talk in unhindered fashion, whereas "Volantage" featuring Murat Uncuoglu goes all in on the trampling kicks, sooty claps and prismatic keyboard stabs. Sensual to the fullest, "Moran" in collaboration with Rodriguez Jr. is certainly one of the album's highlights with its impeccably laid-down mélange of bassy thunder and shapely Latin rhythmic backbone ushering us down an irresistibly poignant and hypnotic tunnel of sound. A joint effort with Locked Groove, "Far Too Close" is a further loopy discoid affair reminiscent of the French filtered-house scene's heyday, while the album's closer "Think it Over" featuring Stereo MC's is that perfect pop-indebted electro chugger that'll rev up any tired engine with reinvigorated, ecstasy-inducing horsepower. The four-track 12" includes download with the full ten-track album.

On Made of Wood, his ninth full-length album since 2007, Oliver Koletzki embodies the seasoned craftsman, carving out his deeply personal sonic sculptures with a confident, learned hand, while experimenting with a broad range of thrilling ideas and fresh textures. The result is an organically flowing, yet decisively shaped work of art, that naturally concludes a trilogy of albums Koletzki embarked on releasing with The Arc of Tension and followed with Fire in the Jungle. Initially written in Tulum, Mexico, during the pre-pandemic winter of 2019, Made of Wood is physically entwined with the primeval forests that continue to inspire its maker: In the subsequent year it took to complete the album in Berlin, Oliver, aided by numerous live musicians and vocalists, brought his sketches to life with a focus on wooden instruments like djembes, marimbas, santoors or duduks, sculpting a natural sound that's warm in timbre, rich in groove and literally made of wood. Thanks to the imperfection of the human hand, the album sings with a bold vibrance that stretches from the LP's slow carnivalesque opener "Caravana De Los Elefantitos" to the blue horns and Wennink's lamenting coos on the concluding ballad "Turn". Intermediately, Koletzki's rhythmic explorations take the shape of mythic odes ("Dear Mexican Jungle"), boisterous tribal dances ("La Veleta"), floor-focused shakers ("Copal'", hand pan-driven epics ("Cryptozoology" featuring Walter Scalzone) or subdued oriental belters ("Serpiente Del Ritmo" featuring ELIH) -- emphasizing his control over light and dark tonalities, over organic and synthetic sounds alike. Most strikingly, Oliver slowly breaks away from the album's natural feel in the mid-section, in which the disorienting, abstract stunner "Picture" (with Niko Schwind and Judith Ahrends) rubs shoulders with the synth-crescendos of the bouncy "Made of Cashmere", while the 14-minute long meditation "A Starseed's Journey" makes for a powerful penultimate breather later on. Next to the meticulous attention to instrumentation and his instinctive touch, these twists and turns underline that Koletzki feels entirely at ease on Made of Wood -- like the true artisan he is.

Lost Spirits is an exploration in sounds for dancing. Catalyzed by the catastrophe that was 2020, Hidden Empire step off the stage and retreat to the studio on a quest to find out what moves the people. They seem to have found it. One out of the box, this 16-track album is designed for diversity. Hidden Empire oar their creative rudders, lending their hand from techno to deep house with a cheeky reach-around to a more downtempo vibe. The first three tracks send you down the rabbit hole on a toe-tapping, hip-slapping aural escapade to the heavier edge of techno, the sublime vocals of Artche taking you directly back to those dancefloor moments when time stands still. Taking the stairs two at a time in polyamorous heels, you'll fall in love with the sassy, classy, savage vibes of "Resurgence" and "Dark Matter". Transitioning to a more tribal-esque vibe is "Organic Train" a cut which blends the primitive, esoteric influence of the old world with the punchy, industrial sounds of the new world. Continuing on the exploratory sound voyage of downtempo, broken beaten space techno, "Mr. P" stands in the forest listening to the plants talk to the people. Bebetta slips in with her inimitable style in the collectively inspired "All of Us", keeping the fun dial turned right up. Delving deep into the tundra, "Hectic Dreams" become reality as the album turns towards the chunkier end of the musical spectrum. Punching out the bass-heavy bangers like "Once Upon" (with a cameo from South African slam poet and spoken word artist, The Lazarusman), Hidden Empire roll out with a flurry of cuts that are limitless in genre and luminous in effect. The Lost Spirits album is a nod to the certain kind of limitless magic which happens when people come together, without preconceptions, to get lost in the music together. Packed full of 100% pre-pandemic dancefloor-approved cuts, wrap your ears around these tasty morsels, in anticipation of a live show where we can all dance together en masse. Includes MP3 download with three extra tracks.

German techno and house composer Tim Engelhardt takes you on a deep dive into his peculiar-yet-relatable world of musical meanderings with Idiosynkrasia. True to the nature of idiosyncrasy, the album is more than the sum of its parts. Idiosynkrasia is an ode to the inspiration Tim finds in all kinds of spaces and places: each cut woven from the same cloth of meticulously formed melodic structures and expertly crafted harmonies, gently amplified and unfettered by genre. From the opening track it's clear that Tim has a profound awareness of rhythm and sound, his background as a pianist lending an easy fluidity to the album as it expands and contracts to tell a story which is gentle, humble and reflective. Using granular processed recordings of piano, floating strings and other instruments to transmute emotions like love, nostalgia, vulnerability, and longing, the album shifts through meditative, flow-state inducing tracks, morphing into cuts designed for dancing it all out. Take it straight, mix it up or down: Idiosynkrasia is cinematic in form and orchestral in structure, each track is marked with Tim's unique sonic signature and careful attention to instrumentation. Inhale the spirited and lively flow; exhale and surrender into epiphanic moments: this is an album which will catalyze deep breaths, reflection and a different way of thinking. Features Hannah Noelle. Double-LP with 16-track download.

Part homage, part prophecy: Fire in the Jungle is the eighth studio album from Berlin-based DJ, producer, and label owner Oliver Koletzki, released by Stil vor Talent. With sounds as diverse as the stamps collected in Koletzki's passport over the past 18 months, Fire in the Jungle is a statement in itself: complex, verdant, the product of years of growth. From the arid desert tundra of Australia, to the lush turquoise beaches and sacred sites of Mexico, to the dusty Playa of Burning Man: these rich and varied landscapes, people, experiences have strongly influenced Koletzki in the production of this multifaceted masterpiece. Musical maestro and storyteller Koletzki expertly weaves live instruments with a range of electronic music production techniques, with producers Sam Shure, Township Rebellion, Hidden Empire, Niko Schwind, and Cioz taking listeners on an extraordinary aural peregrination of genres and styles. Lyrical and vocal collaborations with Monolink, Aparde, Temple Haze, and Lisa Who are layered with Koletzki's signature sound, adding their unique influence to this distinctive album. Running the gamut from full-power, bass-heavy dancefloor anthems to slower, more sultry tracks, the dramaturgy of this album is matched only by the eclectic exotica and psychedelia of the jungle. As the Amazonian jungle burns, this versatile and thought-provoking album raises important questions about what sustains and asks you to reconsider the egoism and laziness of the human species. One thing is certain: Fire in the Jungle will set your feet, heart and mind ablaze.

Over the years, Berlin has been cited as Oliver Koletzki's main point of reference and, more importantly, his endless source of inspiration. His albums Grossstadtmarchen (SVT 037CD, 2009) and Grossstadtmarchen 2, released in two parts (SVT 075LP/SVT 080LP, 2012), are whole-hearted tributes of the German capital, as its importance is continuously hinted and charted. Friedrichshain, one of Berlin's vibrant districts, has always held a special place in Oliver's heart. This is where he started out when he first moved to the city, and this is where he lives now. Kreuzberg's wall paintings adorn Stil Vor Talent's cover sleeves and host their headquarters. There are little to no corners in the city that haven't brought a spark of inspiration into the mix. The Schneeweiss compilation series, now at its eighth installment, is built as a form of tribute to all these particles, tied in together into a series of carefully curated tracks. Each compilation stands at the intersection of the musical and cultural surroundings most prominent of their respective times, acting both as a reminder as well as a timeless sound capsule for the years to come. Schneeweiss X features: Rampa, Danito & Athina, Lunar Plane, Niko Schwind, Rauschhaus & Peer Kusiv, Prismode & Solvane, Modeplex, Candy Man, Ikarius & Dhakka, pølaroit, and Malandra Jr..

LP version. Giorgia Angiuli's debut album In A Pink Bubble channels the artist's effervescent persona and own bubbly style in a 12 track-long, honest musical expression. Drawing inspiration from her first worldwide tour, where life on the road was impacted by personal loss, the album title In A Pink Bubble captures the essence of the artist's mindset, caught between the artistic world and real life: "I felt like in a pink bubble, between memories and new experiences, between darkness and colors". Brandishing an immersive sonic sphere, the classically-trained musician played and recorded all instruments throughout the album, including her favorite weapons of choice, from her beloved '60s guitar to vintage analog synths like the Moog Sub37, Juno 106, the infamous O-B-6 synth and more. The synesthesia of dark and colorful with new and old memories stands at the core of the album, as introspective airy tracks intertwine with more dynamic, bass-heavy constructions. On its luminous side, one sees cuts radiating with crystalline, microscoping sounds with sweeping ambience like the opener "A Perfect Day In Tulum", leading the listener on a nervous path towards more obscure tracks such as "Copenhagen" and "Nothing To Lose", until bringing the atmosphere to a boiling point. "Music Is Life" encapsulates Giorgia's passion for her craft, an intrinsic part of her life that brings peace and inspiration; "Music is life with wings, sit in the warm water, just reflecting, being". Creation and being inspired represent another major theme present throughout the album, both on "Inspiration", and "A Temple Made By Air", where the artist can be heard singing: "Passion means satisfaction, wrong emotions create distortion, come with me to enjoy the green, stop losing time on your screen". Channeling an overflow of emotions, a return to humanity comes as a resolution for the artist, the central idea in "The Contact Is A Cure". Giorgia feels that, although useful, "technology is the big nightmare of our society, and we are all missing the contact with nature and human beings". Rounding off the last part of the release, the sun-drenched "Pink Bubble" stands as reflective and intense, managing to transfuse the same magnetism that is quintessential to Giorgia's live performances. With In A Pink Bubble, Angiuli refines her signature sound across a range of tempos, in a project that can be appreciated both for its intricate groundings and beautiful simplicity.

Extraordinary pieces of music have long stood in direct correlation to the physical surroundings that inspire them. When Oliver Koletzki and Niko Schwind packed up their Berlin studios in the April of 2017 to spend a month locked away in a cottage nestled in the stunning nature of Cape Town's Noordhoek area before heading to AfrikaBurn, little did they know that its long beaches, dramatic mountain views, and the heritage of its indigenous people would have such a profound effect on the club-ready sound they had championed with a string of EPs and live-performances since 2015. The result of four weeks of geo-cultural stimuli and creative experimentation culminated in the album Noordhoek, released here on Stil Vor Talent. While the productions on Noordhoek display the same on-point sound design of previous Oliver Koletzki and Niko Schwind releases, the impressive emotional depth and electronic floor-focus of its twelve tracks effortlessly merge with complex rhythmic textures to form a contemporary narrative on ancient dance rituals. After a roller coaster ride through twelve versatile yet coherent productions, one thing is certain as the ultimate crack of thunder crashes down on Noordhoek: South Africa fueled the creative energy of two remarkable musicians, who were able to translate the abundance of their impressions into a truly original world of sound. Includes download code with all 12 tracks.

Bridging instrumental tact with melodic mysticism, live act and DJ duo Hidden Empire present their debut album Mind Palace, the fruit of their labor of one whirlwind year. On Stil Vor Talent they find a welcome home, having already gained traction with several releases on the label as well as other renowned imprints such as Suara and Filth On Acid. Ranging from downtempo electronica to iterative techno with groovy house incursions, the diversity of the genres explored across the 12 tracks mirror the Cologne-based artists' own sonorous influences as well as their diverse musical sympathies. Fluid, atmospheric tracks set a consistently lush vibe overall, from the esoteric kick-off track "Journey Into Self" to subtle warm-up tools like the oriental-instilled "Hummus" and "Fafnir", or the couple's first vocal collaboration "Pure". Fellow Cologne singer Inga Nelke brings a touch of sensuality with her soft vocal chops atop a broken beat-infused melody accented with gripping piano chords. But it's in club tracks that the album abounds, found often in antithetical pairings, whether it's the marriage of a Moog bassline and warm Caribbean rhythms in "Limbo In Detroit" or the juxtaposition of analog and digital rhythms on "In The Woods", created using Sylvan Recordings as percussion. It's the title track "Mind Palace", however, that reaches the apex of antipolar combinations, displaying a breakbeat-heavy lead doused in exotic vocals perched onto a steady bassline, underlining the artists' knack for innovative rhythms. A nod to the classic heydays of acid comes in the shape of "Acid Flashback", centered around a massive synth hook courtesy of the iconic Roland 303, a tinge slightly present on the spiraling fierce cut "Asmoday", albeit a fraction more subtle. Energy is one of the key traits of the album, as Branko and Niklas conceive a copious amount of hard-hitting tracks that amplify and engage towards the second half of the record. "Black Beauty" oozes stamina from the get-go, its relentless groove guiding a subdued bassline and minimal elements towards the peak point. With "Natural Takeover", a tech powerhouse with a tenacious lead and ominous vocals, the album reaches its darkest corner of the "Mind Palace" universe. All in all, the artists showcase a plethora of straightforward tracks with heterogeneous sound aesthetics, where a closer listen can only reveal further and more elaborate depths. Features: Super Flu, Solomun, Oliver Koletzki, Bloody Shelby, Lazarusman, Rampa, Andhim, Frankey & Sandrino, Fideles, Several Definitions, Goldsun, HOSH, Township Rebellion, &ME, and Harrion.

After showcasing his knack for emotive productions via various EPs throughout his career, the Swiss artist Several Definitions now reveals his first full-length album. It should come as no surprise that the artist found familiarity in what he calls the "Berlin style" of electronic music and notably, that of Oliver Koletzki's Stil vor Talent. Reborn After The Road is an intense and emotional affair, consisting of 14 tracks crafted using field and live recordings, switching between analog and digital to mould a sonic atmosphere that emblazons the artist's core ethos. Although the personal experience that sparked the inspiration for the LP is far from pleasant, Several Definitions' style is audibly resolute. "Reborn After The Road", the album's eponymous track, creates a fitting intro for the healing process that is to follow. Its airy pads and majestic strings sonically stand at the epicenter of the expressive album. Several Definitions continues to explore these sounds on vaporous slices like "Pontcéard 32" or the more acidical "Last Breath". The mellifluous, feminine vocals of LaMeduza on "Learn To Feel" and "Her", as well as Spanish singer Goldsun's crooner talents on the introspective "Trust", on the other hand, showcase Several Definitions' ability to work the human voice into his musical explorations. Taking introspection one step further towards darker realms, "Senelity" then feels like a rite of passage into the deeper and more intense segment at the album's core. "Over You" briefly signals a turning point, with its alarm-like synths and grave leads, which is then followed by the glitchy resistance on "Modular Spaces". "The Escape" presents itself as a natural occurrence after the string of turbulent, sometimes conflicting feelings -- it is a final attempt at evading the depths of animosity. Next, "Dancing With The Valkyrie" comes in as a determined resolution, introducing a new wave of more enduring, complacent moods, also evident on "Help" and "Don't Stop To Fall". Preparing the exit by way of straight-to-the-point techno, "Target Topic" rolls into "Her", the final piece of the emotional puzzle. Conceptually, Reborn After The Road is the sonic vessel for a cathartic process, conjuring up atmospheres reminiscing of different phases in life: childhood, the strength of unconditional love, and the inevitable sorrow that accompanies death. The humanity of the emotions on show explains the music's universal appeal, as Several Definitions offers the listener a glimpse into an artistic healing process.
