Legend has it, every summer in the far west of Lithuania, on a picturesque peninsula of Kursių nerija, Opium Club tribe gathers for four days and nights of dance rites. The festival is called Ant Bangos, Lithuanian for "on the wave," and celebrates its 10th anniversary this year. To mark the occasion, Ant Bangos has teamed up with LTP Records and Green Lakes Pressing plant to deliver a limited edition of colored and hand-numbered vinyls, featuring four exclusive, previously unreleased tracks. All compositions come from longstanding Opium Club and Ant Bangos residents Manfredas, Pletnev, and Roe Deers, as well as the label owner and artistic director of the festival, V. The vinyl was available at the festival. Also featuring Mecanica.

Alexander Pletnev's latest EP, Voranto Bros, is a long-awaited return to Le Temps Perdu. The title track is a cinematic tale, a sound novel about two migrant brothers hitting the shores of USA in the dawn of XXth century to became vicious gangsters. "Hope They Wont Come Back" is severe instrumental ballad with low drums, talking bass lines, and noisy guitar riffs. Cocktail D'Amore's head honchos Discodromo strip "Voranto Bros" down to deliver an EBM style dancefloor burner. Harold Boué (Abstraxion, Lion's Drums) delivers a menacing remix for "Hope They Won't Come Back", a dark and mystic journey.

It wouldn't be an overstatement to say that Opium is currently the most talked about club North of Berlin. The Vilnius-based spot has built its reputation slowly but surely to become one of the brightest lights in the night sky of Europe. The club has earned the admiration of local crowd, loyalty of visiting artists and respect of industry insiders by nurturing unique local talent, bringing cutting edge house and techno acts on a weekly basis, building a devoted community and rocking the parties of the highest intensity and unprecedented intimacy. It's no wonder Boiler Room and Resident Advisor both came knocking on the door in 2017 for special features and events. 2018 marks another milestone in club's incredible journey: the first ever music compilation entitled Opium Of The People, a rock solid collection of nine unreleased tracks by core residents and the members of extended Opium family from all around the world featuring Tel Aviv's producer and song writer Autarkic, Australia-born-Europe-bound new age traveler Kris Baha, Canadian smooth operator Thomas Von Party, German-Mexican studio encounter of Sebastian Voigt and Theus Mago, Berlin-based Spanish fashionista Hugo Capablanca with La Mverte, Detroit legend Sharif Laffrey, and the Russian crate-digging trio of Leonid Lipelis, Sergey Krylow, and Ilya Simonov under the name of Plungerbird X Beard In Dust. Most of them are coming to Lithuanian capital's hot spot so often, they could easily start their own fan clubs in town. The local talent also gets a well-deserved attention. Manfredas and Siaubas find their place on the compilation and bring the modern sound of Vilnius nights to the vanguard. Opium Of The People has been conceived and compiled by Vidmantas "V" Cepkauskas, the head of programming and resident DJ of Opium, a well-known contributor to the electronic music scene for nearly two decades. He has reinvented a friends-to-friends after-hours place into an international music institution in a matter of six seasons and is the best candidate to curate and present Opium Of The People.

Soft spoken and well-mannered, Alexander Pletnev moved in 2014 from the Russian city of St. Petersburg to the Lithuanian capital of Vilnius. A co-founder of a barber's shop that also hosts an improvised vinyl second-hand corner, and a cozy bar, Alex soon embraced influences filtered through the local nightlife institution "Opium Club". His production powerhouse Pletnev explores darker territories, untouched by his bright alter ego, Ponty Mython. St. Bones EP consists of two tracks, contrasting in mood and tempo, accompanied by remixes from the Japanese tailor of sound and taste Ryota OPP and fellow St. Petersburg producer, Inga Mauer.

Dreems presents Charcoals EP featuring remix work from Finger Prince and Statue. "Heating Up The Voyetra" is an alternative method to cooking up some music. Started off as a small impromptu jam in another backyard on another continent with Montrealer Clarian during one of those formidable cold Canadian evenings. Dreems throws on his Finger Prince apron alongside Francis Xavier for a deeper, heavier version of the title track. And Australian percussion enthusiast Statue reconstructs the "Voyetra" from a slo-mo acid cooker to a peak-time griller.
