A selection of tracks collected from the albums Totem, Pandora's Box, and Luna Tide, placed together as a possible alternative album in this alternate reality. Time Lapse used to refer to a method of filming, by taking a series of single pictures over a period of time and then putting them together to show the action happening quickly. Plot: Urban decay, on the concourse, escapism via drugs, machines choking the arteries. A Moscow apartment, economic refugees, the human menagerie. Zen and the art of vehicles, crucified by the highway, on the road to... Fallen statues in public parks, the prince of narcosis, to the sea of tranquility. T minus and counting, dedicated to all astronomers... keep watching the skies.

Call it an "outsider-sound", it's a kind of wrong-rock, or odd-pop, confident and careful, orchestral in parts "this is purposeful modern songwriting at the coalface." Charlie Finke is prophetic and yet naïve. Justine Armatage's emotional orchestral writing unsettles as it piles over the feeling. Formed by Finke (Penthouse) and Armatage (Gretchen-Hoffner), Cesarians have evolved into a compelling seven piece outfit, (piano, violins, cello, guitar, brass, alongside a charismatic tight as f##k rhythm section) a potent live act with years of touring experience including notable support invitations from the widely varied likes of likes of Adam Ant, Lydia Lunch, and Spiritualized. Justine is the committed piano based writer and arranger, with super eclectic influences from Birthday Party to Bowie and Bach to Debussy. Charlie brings a musical ambition of Scott Walker with the realism and suave knowing groove of Ian Dury or The Fall. "We'd as soon as listen (on the tour bus) to Charlie Mingus and Judy Garland as we do to PJ Harvey or Metallica, I think that's completely normal." The writing is as livid in thought as the live experience is performance. Pulled forward by the unknown delirium, at once voodoo and caressing. Where there is certainty let us bring un-certainty. Where there is harmony, may we bring discord. Where there is contentment, let us bring disfunction. Clear vinyl.

Original music soundtrack from the film Far From The Apple Tree by Grant McPhee -- A psychedelic pop-art fairytale. Soundtrack composed by Rose McDowall and Shawn Pinchbeck. CD version and download code includes one extra track.
"Far From the Apple Tree is an eclectic mix of ghost story, fairy tale and horror. Evocative of films like Valerie and Her Week of Wonders and The Wicker Man and with a truly magical soundtrack by Rose McDowall (Strawberry Switchblade) and Shawn Pinchbeck make Far From The Apple Tree a must-see for fans of Redemption and ethereal thrills." --Salvation
"Rose and Shawn's soundtrack adds so much colour, mood, mystery and magic to our film that it would feel empty without it. I'm delighted that it is now being released on its own, and by Glass so that it can add those same qualities to anyone who picks up a copy for themselves. " --Grant McPhee

Double LP version. Solo album by David J (Bauhaus, Love And Rockets) is an intensely personal, self-deprecating, confessional song cycle and ultimately a glowing tribute to his wife of many decades. It is intended as a cyclic swan-song, the last track, "I Hear Only Silence Now" being a new version of the song which was the first on J's 1983 solo debut, Etiquette Of Violence. The new album was recorded in Prague, Berlin, and Los Angeles as well as Wellingborough, England when J revisited Beck Studios where his former highly influential band, Bauhaus cut "Bela Lugosi's Dead" in 1979. The new album features contributions from Anton Newcombe (Brian Jonestown Massacre), Toby Dammit (Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds), Paul Wallfisch (Swans), Sean Eden (Luna), Rose McGowan, Asia Argento, Emily Jane White, Annabel (lee), and the great Czech violinist Karel Holas, amongst others. J sees the album as the culmination of 36 years of solo/collaborative work. It is also a "coming home" of sorts as the label behind the release is the London based Glass Modern (the newly reactivated Glass Records) which originally released some of J's earliest critically acclaimed works.

Much anticipated and final studio album by Future Pilot AKA, the brainchild of Indo-Caledonian bassist/bandleader Sushil K Dade. Nine years in the making this album was not originally intended to be released via the conventional format of an album release. Initially the individual recordings were hidden in the elements by the artist (shorelines, hills, wind farms, islands, and lochs) as part of a #soniktreasurehunt sound/research project across Scotland. After all the hidden tracks were discovered by music fans via clues/co-ordinates shared on social media by the artist, Dade decided to "curate" a one-off edition of these recordings in the format of a picnic hamper as a conclusion to the #soniktreasurehunt. This was discovered at a bus-stop near Faslane Nuclear base. After several years since the discovery of the "one-off edition" Glass Modern bring together these tracks and finally present these in the classic format of "the album". Future Pilot AKA music is highly collaborative and Dade's previous recordings have featured contributions from a range of artists including Philip Glass, Damo Suzuki, Mikey Dread, The Pastels, The Go-Betweens. Featured on Orkestra Digitalis are contributions from Soft Machine legend Robert Wyatt (he posted Dade a cassette of his vocals lines), Ethiopian jazz master Mulatu Astatke (making his vocal debut on a tribute to Charles Mingus), Brian Eno collaborator Leo Abrahams, Canadian singer-songwriter Ron Sexsmith, Scottish artists Emma Pollock (Delgados), RM Hubbert, Craig Armstrong, and Turner Prize Award Winning Artist Martin Boyce, who meditates on a quote from an Orange Juice classic.

Repressed. Glass Modern present an LP reissue of Matthew Sweet's Kimi Ga Suki * Raifu, originally released on CD in Japan in 2003 as a love letter and thank you to his Japanese fans. Recorded at home, produced, engineered, and mixed by Matthew Sweet (bass, guitars, vocals) with the classic Girlfriend (1991) era lineup of Ric Menck (drums), Greg Leisz (guitars), and the genius electric lead guitar of Television's Richard Lloyd. The sleeve art is by renowned artist Yoshimoto Nara. In the liner notes, Sweet describes the album's title as an attempt at reverse English: "If I did it correctly, the title should seem a little strange or wrong, but still meaningful! The true definition is supposed to be a 'love you' life, one devoted to loving someone or something, even life itself!" "... an excellent modern guitar pop album, filled with great hooks and harmonies and irresistible ringing six-strings." --Allmusic "Kimi crackles with Girlfriend's energy, as Lloyd and Sweet's guitars provide antagonistic foils as they did more than a decade before on cuts like 'Tonight We Ride'." --Rolling Stone Red vinyl.

RSD 2019 release. Glass Modern present a reissue of the Prolapse's second album Backsaturday, originally released in 1995. Backsaturday saw them experimenting with both repetitive grooves and ambient soundscapes, krautrock, and kitchen sink drama. They feature dueling vocalists Mick Derrick and Linda Steelyard, who play out an intense soap opera over a ferocious triple guitar assault and pummeling rhythm section. The classic 15-minute track "Flex", has been remixed by current bass player and former Julian Cope associate, Donald Ross Skinner. 180 gram vinyl; Duck egg blue vinyl.

Dissident is Richard Youngs's strong follow up to 2018's Belief and Endless Futures (REDUX 015LP, 2018). Youngs is also a member of Amor. Youngs on the recording: "Dissident is a hallucination of a legendary lost Samizdat-style recording of the legendary lost Richard Youngs Band. It's not clear to me that it is against anything in particular, and as such it is not literally dissident. In fact, I'm a little lost how or why it is dissident, save for being informed by the imagined provisional recordings of pre-Glasnost protest. Perhaps the wordless scratch vocals are voicing dissent, but I remember having fun. So much so, I couldn't stop myself from fleshing out the rough nylon guitar songs to a full band arrangement, recorded in multiple spaces." 180 gram vinyl.

Glass Modern present the first vinyl issue of Thurston Moore and Tom Surgal's Klangfarbenmelodie.. And The Colorist Strikes Primitiv. Originally released on CD in 1995 only in New Zealand by the Dead C's Bruce Russell on his Corpus Hermeticum label. Edited by Bruce Russell for this Glass Modern release. New liner notes by Bruce Russell. 180 gram, white vinyl.
"A 1995 release from the famed Sonic Youth guitarist, this recording sees him paired with free jazz drummer Tom Surgal for a blistering noise set, in keeping with New Zealand noise label Corpus Hermeticum's aesthetic. The listener should not expect the sweet psychedelic pop of his Psychic Hearts album of the same year; rather, Moore explores his interest in freeform improvisation on this live set recorded in 1994. The recording is lo-fi, but that adds to it's candid charm, as his guitar thrashing reaches peaks of noise only hinted at in early Sonic Youth. The duo works along lines that are more akin to the Blue Humans -- with whom drummer Surgal began -- and also seems influenced by such underground acts as Fushitsusha and the Dead C. Moore's guitar is so distinct, however, that many parts here could be mistaken for a live Sonic Youth recording from that band's more heady and chaotic '80s period." --Dean McFarlane, AllMusic

A collaboration by David J (Bauhaus, Love & Rockets) and Detroit's psych prog garage rock n' rollers Duende. CD version comes in a six-panel card sleeve. "This is dark psych, crow winged, pulp rock at its finest" --Damien Youth.
David J on the collaboration: "This exciting collaboration with Detroit's stalwart psych garage band, Duende came about when they approached me to work with them on a couple of new tracks for a forthcoming EP. These turned out extremely well and when I played them to my pal, genius songwriter/hermetic music guru, Damien Youth, whose opinion I rate most highly, he enthusiastically insisted that we develop the project into a full-blown album. This we did. Recorded and mixed in one week at Tempermill Studio in Ferndale, MI, I regard it as one of the most vital sounding and inspired recordings of my career. We also pulled in some additional stellar local talent in Warren DeFever (His Name Is Alive) and also Joshua James (Theatre Bizarre Orchestra) to add yet more tasty ingredients to the swampy spiked mojo soup."

Glass Modern present a reissue of In The Presence Of Greatness, the debut Velvet Crush LP from 1991, originally released on Creation Records. In The Presence Of Greatness was recorded and mixed on eight tracks by Matthew Sweet in his basement in Princeton, New Jersey 1990-91. Repackaged in a new sleeve with photographs from the original session by Michael Lavine. 180 gram pressing on turquoise vinyl. "In the Presence of Greatness sounds like Big Star's #1 Record updated for a new decade. The general air of mildly anguished wistfulness is the same, as are the jangly guitars and high harmonies, but Velvet Crush plays with a post-punk sprightliness and a less overtly British Invasion-inspired melodic sense." --Stewart Mason, AllMusic.
