"On Etui's 12th release, Alex Carbo and Insect O. work hand-in-hand producing a Science Fiction Summer Movie that is perfect for summer. Their split EP provides some intricate tech-house with melancholic, alluring elements to the nightly dance theaters. Carbo's offering, 'Disappeared,' with his typical pumping beats and self-confident drums, is perfectly made for the techno dancefloor. Twisted in misty, mystic pads with slightly opening chord sounds, 'Disappeared' slowly progresses its way up towards climax. The synthy aria 'Jeronimo' and its melodic and punchy soundscapes navigates straight to the upcoming festivals. With 'Cats in the Dark,' Insect O. proves us wrong when we think that all cats are grey in the dark. Sparkling kitty cat eyes sneak through a dark techno basement. Caressed by the stroboscope, the appealing glittery synth sounds mark the twisted drama, which finds its soul in subtly-composed percussion lines and a beefy bass drum. This song's soft shell is carried over to 'She' with its melancholic, soft piano and its gently stroked bongos. With a lot of emotion, Insect O. made this deep house track another part of Etui's versatile concept."

"This is Mentalic's Prague, with remixes by End Of Tape and Insect O. It's hard to put a finger on Mentalic. His tracks are fuzzy and hard to grab. Their sound is croaky, abstract and dark, yet at the same time saturated with melodic moments corresponding to Mentalic's idea of advanced techno. The original version takes us on a 10-minute stroll through Prague at night with its maze of tiny streets, across ancient bridges and castle walls only to beam you directly into the stroboscope. Gunjah & Stachy aka End Of Tape have an absolute sense of the dancefloor -- they twist this track with its functional focus on minimal fiddly sounds. Insect O.'s 'Late Nite Dub' twirls itself with an honest take-off through the night. These three carefully-arranged soundscapes don't hide the time and the nocturnal endorphin release! Let's dance!"

"Tombola der Freisinnigen is not understood as a puristically conceptioned circus. In fact, 1st Decade's Gunjah & Ex-Fischmob drummer Stachy aka End Of Tape, Alec Troniq, Mentalic, Soeren Matschiste and Insect O. create a magic hat containing these 5 tracks that are gonna move your ass. Following their excellent remix of Chapeau Claque's 'Blütenstaubromanze,' End Of Tape's current release 'Data Store' comes at you like a rocket and ignites the dancefloor. It drives forward with an analog synth sound and rolling grooves that leave behind a trace of longing for the next Etui release. They share the A-side with Mentalic and his melodrama 'Sweet Little Sixteen' which is not in the least sweet or innocent. It's a neat and sensitive techno track that he puts into the Etui jukebox. The Etui crew carries on with the B-side. Insect O. designs mystic techno, Alec Troniq creates some hands-up elektro and Soeren Matschiste gives this magic hat the finishing with trackpop. It's hardly possible to compete with the diversity of this anniversary record. There is nothing left to say than: have fun!"

"Alec Troniq aka Fin Phranklin with his 21 years of age has already released several projects, amongst others on Miditonal and Phonocake. With 'Passengers' he presents his highly anticipated vinyl debut on ETUI. Surprising moments, exciting tone colors and thrilling rhythms grant his music liveliness. Structure and arrangement acquire new significance. 'Odyseas' flirts with classical schemes. The chords and a lascivious drum set lie straight-forward on the ironing board: the direct grip to the hips! Momentous breaks with glittering light sparks that come from a dusty cellar leading to a safe destination. 'Passengers' lives from harmonic tones and cracking grooves. They uncompromisingly catch your soul and kidnap it to the magic forest. With 'Madame Obscure' Alec is at his cheekiest. In a jazzy, breezy, and giggling way he makes his A2-piece wear a pair of garters, which despite inner foolishness discharges hot eroticism. He accomplishes his message with this and confirms that versatility works! Alec Troniq transports the unique energy with his much-valued live acts on vinyl and makes them enduring for eternity."

"The third joint venture release of Insect & Matschiste includes flippy techno for the peaktime on the A-side and two dreamy solo tracks for the affects on the B-side. The title track 'Kassensturz' plays with lots of lively samples and percussion sounds. With groovy drums, the two guys from Dresden arrange a straight minimal beat in a stirring way. After a sweeping break they put some synth elements and rhythmical variations to the track. So it really becomes a peaktime weapon. The two solo tracks on the B-side bring some emotional aspects to the release. 'Monkey Morning' from Soeren Matschiste sounds like a dippy morning. Because of the frisky oldschool drums, wicked samples and a very groovy bassline, he cuts to the chase. 'Rain On Your Skin' from Insect O. is focused on a warm pad. Shakers nodding windy to the rhythm. Distorted melodious features are subtly swelling and finally everything is turning into a downpour of rain. Emotions on the dancefloor!"

"The two guys from Dresden come along with lively techhouse and rough vocals. Having a passion for club sounds once again they are not scared of thinking outside the box. The A-side starts slowly with a deep beat. The voice is calling 'free me' and before you know it the room is filled with funky organ riffs and spherical sounds. Good morning! The bumpy cab ride moves on through the night with queer electropads. This will cause furor on the dancefloor. The B-side is directed towards friends of traditional club music. 'Freak Me' combines minimal techno schemes with lively percussions. Can't go on? The 'Free Me'-milkmanmix will bring you fresh progressive energy pushing you straight forward by catchy kicky drums and effective synthie sounds. This record is a cheeky statement on the wide range of dance music."

"Insect O. is an old hand in the electronic music scene of Dresden. Sören Matschiste rocks the crowd for Scepa as a full-time musician. One fine day they met in the music club 'Altes Wettbüro' and found out that they had the same preferences concerning electronic club music. Live and now on vinyl they take us to an exciting trip through minimal-trance and underground-pop. On the A-side, 'Dschoänna' moves mysteriously in a 3/4 time on the dancefloor. The B-side blesses us with a beautiful Sunday morning. So, put your sandals on and let's go! Oh, there is something else: they were both born on the same day. Mustn't this be a good sign for the future?"
