Delayed until 2026... "A massive photographic archive of Lee 'Scratch' Perry's legendary recording studio. A 600-page tribute to one of the most famous locales in music history, Black Ark is a detailed inventory of photographs and writings from the Black Ark Studios in Kingston, Jamaica, where producer Lee 'Scratch' Perry created music from 1973 onward. The eclectic and constantly evolving decoration of the studio provides an enduring visual counterpart to Perry's expansive musical catalog. From mural paintings to shape-shifting assemblages of records, instruments, found objects, posters and newspaper clippings, the artworks layer upon one another as they intertwine with the studio building itself. Perry created his own dense and diverse world in which to work: memorialized in this volume before the Black Ark disappears for good. The photographic documentation of the studio in the spring of 2021 was supplemented by efforts to secure and preserve Perry's works, objects and recordings as part of a joint project with the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, DC. Black Ark reflects the rhythm and layering effects of collage both in its content and the materials used to craft the book. Perry was involved in the development of this publication until his death in August 2021. The book closes with memorial essays from Ishion Hutchinson, David Katz, Kodwo Eshun, and John Corbett. Lee 'Scratch' Perry (1936-2021) was a musician and producer best known for pioneering the dub genre in the 1970s. He worked with well-known Jamaican artists such as Bob Marley and the Wailers, the Heptones, the Congos, and Max Romeo. In 2003 he won a Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album."

Delayed... "Duke Ellington was one of the most important and influential figures in the entire history of jazz, as pianist, bandleader, composer and innovator, his career spanned the evolution from the early days of electric recording. However, while critics and commentators focus on his over-arching significance as a giant of the medium, it's easy to forget that he was a genius at composing tune and songs for the medium of the three-minute, 78rpm single, and during the first three decades of his career before rock 'n' roll changed the pop landscape irrevocably, he had more than 70 records that were credited as chart hits. The Duke himself preferred not to have his work referred to as 'jazz' but liked people to see it as he himself saw it, as being 'beyond category,' simply 'American music.' In a career lasting six decades, he attracted the very best musicians to his orchestras, and gifted to the world many of the jazz standards we know and love today This LP brings together some of his most iconic compositions, including timeless classics such as the Billboard R&B No.1 'Don't Get Around Much Anymore,' alongside stalwarts of the jazz canon 'Mood Indigo,' 'Sophisticated Lady,' 'Solitude,' 'Caravan,' 'Take The 'A' Train,' and 'It Don't Mean A Thing (If You Ain't Got That Swing).' It's a fantastic insight into his most successful output during a primary era of his career, and a great showcase for the artistry which made the Duke such a revered and iconic personality."

Delayed... "B.B. King, the 'King Of The Blues' is an undisputed music icon. In a career spanning seven decades, he sold in excess of 50 million records, won 20 Grammy Awards, and played alongside artists such as Bono, Eric Clapton, The Rolling Stones, Elton John, and Stevie Wonder. A hard-working musician, King toured the world several times over, taking his extraordinary blues from the margins to the mainstream. His emotional and sophisticated soloing on his Gibson guitar, 'Lucille,' coupled with his subtle vibrato style, influenced a diverse range of artists, including, Keith Richards, Carlos Santana, Jimi Hendrix, Cream, Richie Sambora, and even 50 Cent. This fine collection brings together some of King's greatest early blues numbers. From his first hit single, 'Three O'Clock Blues,' timeless tracks such as 'Woke Up This Morning' and 'Everyday I Have The Blues,' the epic double sider 'Sweet Sixteen' finishing with his early sixties classics, 'Someday' and 'Peace Of Mind.' King was a pioneer from the very beginning, with this collection demonstrating just why the British blues bands of the late sixties revered him as a guitar god. King was inducted into the Blues Foundation Hall Of Fame in 1984, the Rock 'n' Roll Hall Of Fame in 1987, received the National Academy of the Recording Arts and Sciences Lifetime Achievement Award and awarded the Presidential Medal of the Arts in 1990. In 2006 he received the Medal of Freedom, America's highest civilian honor."

Dharmacide is a Spanish band known for their eclectic fusion of genres, blending elements of shoegaze and dreampop music. Tougher Than the Rest is their awaited second album. They take a step forward with a darker sound with gloomy riffs and ethereal voices in which they describe perfectly how the sound of a night full of random events would be like. "The Cigs, The Light, The Coffee and Crying," the LP's first single, features a powerful reverb-laden riff with a solo vocal melody in the middle of the chaos until breaking into a powerful chorus. Dharmacide's sound is marked by intricate guitar riffs, powerful drumming, and deep, emotive vocals that create a unique atmosphere. The band, with members of Alcalá Norte and Depresión Sonora, has made a huge impact on various stages, performing at renowned venues and festivals, including iconic spots in their home country as well as internationally, earning praise for their high-energy performances and thoughtful compositions. Their latest singles have been produced, mixed and mastered by Mark Gardener from Ride. Their sound is influenced by today's bands like Diiv, Warpaint, or Beach House but also by classic artists like Cocteau Twins, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, and Tom Waits.

With his new album Cruise Control, Satin Jackets presents a perfect musical soundtrack for relaxed moments that take listeners away from the stresses of everyday life. The title of the album is meaningful: Cruise Control stands for the feeling of switching on the autopilot, leaning back and enjoying the journey to the fullest -- an atmosphere that the album unfolds. The album is a collection of singles that have been released over the last few years and are all interwoven at their core. Because no matter where you listen to the songs, they work, images arise in your head and your feet rarely stay still. Satin Jackets remains true to himself with his album sound, as he repeatedly receives feedback from listeners who appreciate the positive mood in his songs and which always puts them in a good mood. The songs are first created in the producer's head and then develop together with the features, who add their own touch. For Satin Jackets, "the most important thing is this immediate feeling that it fits musically and atmospherically." This can also come out of nowhere, as was the case with David Bay and Small Black, who got in touch with the producer and it was an instant fit. "There are always those magical moments when a song comes out of nowhere. Once I had an idea for a chord sequence that I couldn't get out of my head, but somehow that certain something was still missing. I then spontaneously asked a bassist friend of mine if he would like to play something to it -- ten minutes later we had a hook that carried the whole piece. It's these unexpected, spontaneous inspirations that make the process so exciting." Cruise Control is more than just another album from Satin Jackets. It is an invitation to enjoy the moment and surrender to the music -- a soundtrack that creates a good mood and takes you on a relaxing journey. So just switch on the autopilot again, put on your headphones and let yourself go. Featuring Seint Monet and Nazzereene.

RELEASE DATE: 7/25/2025
Flamenco is a Spanish art, which has always been prone to hybridization with a multitude of musical languages. Therefore, the universe of "flamenco fusion" could well reflect the way in which Spaniards have related throughout history with other cultures. And that relationship may have often been one of dialogue, exchange, respect and crossbreeding. Among the circumstances that could have favored the traditional mestizaje of flamenco art is the open character of the south of the Iberian Peninsula, to all the civilizations that have settled in its territories; the encounter with America in 1492, and the brotherhood with the Spanish-speaking countries; that the Casa de contratación de Indias, the entity that regulated the transit between Spain and America for centuries, was founded in none other than Seville! (and olé); without forgetting the fundamental African contribution, brought to America by millions of black slaves throughout the 400 years of the slave trade. Pícaro Vol. 4 is an excellent example of how some Spanish flamenco musicians knew how to take advantage of the fashion of other styles and rhythms coming from outside Spain, creating a new sound universe and incorporating them into their repertoire. Undoubtedly, there is a generational replacement of "flamenco Ye-Ye" in Spain with artists like Rosalía or C. Tangana, although now it will be necessary to modernize "the label". This compilation offers listeners a snapshot of the multiple styles of flamenco hybridization that triumphed in the world during the decades of the '50s and '60s of the 20th century. Through its microsurcos comes immeasurable flamenco ye yé (track 1), flamenco rock and roll (tracks 3 and 4), flamenco cha cha chá (tracks 6, 7 and 15) or flamenco mambo (track 12), together with other unusual, exotic and impossible mixes of Spanish song with tango arrabalero, bluegrass, easy listening, swing, groove or soul. Always a happy mix, brought together with exquisite taste in this vinyl for your enjoyment. Featuring Juana Chicharro, Encarnita, Amina Y Su Cuadro Flamenco, Dolores Abril Y Juanito Valderrama, El Titi, María Bonita Y José De Moreno, Los Alcarson, Paquito Jerez, Rosita, Rafael Martínez Y Su Orquesta, Emilio Varela, Felipe Campuzano, Los Españoles, Tito Moya Y Su Orquesta, Los Plata, and Rosa Morena.

Color vinyl version. Known for his ability to create captivating, emotionally charged techno, Jonathan Kaspar returns to Cocoon Recordings with his third contribution Twofold. One, yet simultaneously two releases that once again showcase his extraordinary talent through condensed techno with a pinch of trance, weaving together driving rhythms and atmospheric textures in a way that feels innovatively progressive. Twofold: Fade -- Rooted in a minimalist rhythmic structure, "Power" takes listeners in a new direction, steadily building momentum as its energy billows upwards, with the intensity never wavering throughout. A large, dented, tinny tuba sounds imposingly as Jonathan blows louder and louder into the old thing, its raw, metallic tone instantly commanding attention. What an explosion in the break, leading listeners into a wild, almost chaotic energy, before Kaspar's meticulous attention to detail ensures that the shimmering synths feel perfectly placed, guiding to the absolute freak-out moment. After all the insanity, Jonathan Kaspar leads into a melodic, trancy after-hours mood with "1993," bringing a sense of release after the wild ride of the previous tracks. What a successful closing track to this outstanding release. With its melodic trance influences, it offers a soothing, almost nostalgic atmosphere, bringing a sense of calm and closure, a perfect moment of introspection and euphoria as the EP winds down.

RELEASE DATE: 7/18/2025
Here it is, for the first time on a 45, "Drug Story," the lost track by Joe Bataan. Pure Latin soul, recorded at the peak of the artist's career and released 50 years later! A must-purchase for those into Latin soul and funk. Joe Bataan's extensive discography was expanded in 2022 with the release of some old recordings from the King of Latin Soul that had never been previously published. After the success of his album Riot! (1968), Bataan had easy access to a studio whenever inspiration struck to record a new song sketch or even a complete track. Sometimes, he would finish the recording entirely and offer it in its final version to Fania for release. This usually worked, although on some occasions, the song was rejected. In the case of "Drug Story," the track was recorded without a clear final purpose, even though Bataan hoped it would become part of an album. When the Fania executives heard the result, they immediately rejected it, thinking it promoted drug use. The tapes were filed away and lost in oblivion until they ended up in a thrift store in New York. From there, they were rescued by a Latin music specialist and later sold, eventually making their way to the Vampisoul archives. The song was finally released in its entirety in 2022 on the LP Drug Story by Now Again. It features a long, slow vocal intro that evolves into a more up-tempo track with two very distinct parts, to the point that it almost feels like two different songs. It transports us to the best moment of Joe Bataan's career, with all of his classic ingredients, delivering a track as good as his most famous songs. Bataan himself takes on the lead vocals and piano, Bobby Rodríguez handles the flute, sax, and bass, Pete 'Choki' Quintero plays the drums, and William Howes Jr. plays the electric guitar with wah-wah effects.

"The much-anticipated follow-up to LA-based singer-songwriter Natalie Bergman's critically acclaimed 2021 solo debut album Mercy. If you re-envisioned and rebuilt Motown somewhere in the California desert, it might sound something like My Home Is Not In This World. Recorded analog-to-tape and produced by her brother and longtime collaborator Elliot Bergman, the 12-track record shimmers with gospel soul, country-western heartache, and rock 'n' roll grit, all filtered through Natalie's unmistakable voice. Where her critically acclaimed 2021 debut solo album Mercy was steeped in grief and spiritual reckoning, written in the wake of the sudden loss of her father and stepmother, My Home Is Not In This World emerges from new life and rebirth. Natalie gave birth to her son, Arthur, in 2024, and the experience of motherhood has transformed her music into something equally tender and transcendent."

RELEASE DATE: 7/18/2025
This elusive and lesser-known 1966 collector's gem by Óscar Agudello y el Combo Moderno called Pa' mi muñeca is an album devoted to recreating the strength of a musical genre that's been the soundtrack of Colombian life for decades and represents a milestone on the route cumbia had taken by 1966, when it was originally released on Discos Fuentes. It's exactly the kind of music that lights up a tambó or a fandango circle on carnival night. First time reissue. Includes liner notes by genre expert Don Alirio. 180g vinyl. It is a rarity where the artist took an unexpected musical turn and performed several porros, paseaitos, gaitas, and cumbias, evoking the swaying motion and rolling waves of Colombia's Caribbean sound. It resonates with the echoes of a romantic minstrel laced with an unexpected richness of nuance, a hallmark of the cumbia sound. A dozen tracks, none of them new, but suffused with a consciousness that can be understood within the context of their time and with the personality of the artist bold enough to bring them to life. "Madre cumbia" opens the album with a festive, nostalgic mood, infused with the simple beauty and the electrifying beat of the tropics that immediately makes you want to get up and dance. It's a fantastic example of how to perform a song with passion and make the listener fall instantly in love with an album. "Pa' mi muñeca," the title track, is a fast-paced paseaito that explores new paths that took a shortcut to the dance halls. A showstopper on the dance floor. "Está como mango" is a porro-cumbia that charms with a rich tapestry of compliments, the calling card of many old-school tropical songs. "Cumbia de recuerdo," "Cumbia suave," "Cumbia de Santa Marta," are back-to-back cumbias. This is an album devoted to recreating the strength of a musical genre that's been the soundtrack of Colombian life for decades. It's a record dedicated to capturing good times, filled with simple dreams, steeped in joyful energy, and shining with the uninhibited flair, or better said, the quality of the sixties.

The Rhythm Machine is now available again to the musical public, legitimately reissued in its original packaging. Offering up brilliant soul, haunting ballads and high-energy mid-'70s funk, this tasty medley is served best in its entirety. Virtually impossible to find in its original edition, it is now reissued once again thanks to a collaboration with Now Again. Pressed on 180g vinyl. Indianapolis' legendary Rhythm Machine is one of the rare funk bands that transitioned between eras of funk's history seamlessly, creating awesome funk sides for a host of independent labels between the years of 1968 and 1976. Born out of cult Indy funk band The Highlighters' ashes, the Rhythm Machine was founded in the early '70s by bass player James Boone and guitarist James Brantley. Their self-titled and only LP, originally released in 1976, is a wild, super-groovy ride with tight band energy and a bunch of unexpected twists that keep things interesting from start to finish. At first, you might catch some Earth, Wind & Fire vibes -- deep basslines, funky beats, and killer horn sections -- but dig a little deeper and you'll find something a little looser, a little cooler. There's a smooth, jazzy undercurrent running through a lot of these tracks that gives the whole thing a fresh, off-the-beaten-path feel. Some songs drift into a dreamy, almost spacey zone -- think cosmic funk with a romantic twist. The production is silky, almost liquid-like, letting the guitars shimmer and the keys float. And when the soprano sax kicks in? Pure magic. It adds just the right bite to take the tracks up a notch. Perfect for late-night grooves, chill sessions, or anyone hunting for that hidden gem funk record with serious soul.

This is one of the most obscure singles ever released in Venezuela in the '60s. The outstanding The Pets' original "El entierro de un hombre rico que murió de hambre" is one of the finest garage tunes to emerge from Latin America. Their stunning take on The Door's "Hello, I Love You" takes the B side. A garage DJs favorite! First time 45 reissue, audios remastered from the original tapes. It followed the global triumph of The Beatles that made the wave of beat groups get bigger and bigger and lots of new bands emerged, some of which would last while others would definitively go into oblivion, and a small number of them would leave at least one recording that today is considered a highly valuable collector's item. This is the case of The Pets. The band's only album, released in 1967, shows perfectly what the influences of the Venezuelan nueva ola (new wave) scene were at the time, including versions of The Doors, Beatles, Rolling Stones, and Paul Revere & The Riders.

Electròccid àccid alquimístic xoc marks a shift in Pau Riba's sound -- now electrified and fully embracing rock under the influence of artists like Lou Reed, Ray Davies, and Kevin Ayers. Once again, Riba left everyone bewildered with a work that, on its own, gave early substance to what would eventually be known as roc català, of which Riba may well have been its most authentic representative. First vinyl reissue in over four decades! The magical "Dioptria" had been left behind. The album was recorded in the winter of 1975 with the help of the same group of musicians who had accompanied Riba a few months earlier at a concert at Zeleste to debut new songs: a mix of Valencian musicians from bands like Paranoia Dea and guitarist Eduardo Bort's group. The core of Electròccid is defined by Riba's own authorship. With lyrics that veer from poetic to absurdly ironic, Riba explores themes like the moon, the stars, death, love, women, the devil, and the bourgeoisie -- fueling the originality that made him such a unique artist. It's striking how naturally and effortlessly Riba incorporated the Catalan language into the rock idiom -- and vice versa.

Twofold: Ignite -- Drifting hypnotically, this might be the most fitting way to describe what Jonathan Kaspar unfolds here. The rolling percussion grooves seamlessly intertwine with the siren's spectral tone, gradually blending into the alchemy of "Yah" as it erupts into the mix. By the time the peak arrives, there's a raw intensity in the air -- the track seems to bend and stretch then drills and twists until it cracks, but never loses its sense of purpose and remains anchored in its deep, pulsating groove. On the flip side, "Silver Lines" stands as a counterpart, offering a contrast in both sound and atmosphere. With its minimalist arrangement, the track first nestles in gently, lulling the listener into its world -- only to tighten its grip as a synth sequence gradually opens its cut-off filter, slicing through the calm, drilling into the mind, and shifting the mood from tranquil to tense. Also available on color vinyl (COR 179ACOL-EP).

Inéditas showcases the incredible musicianship and creativity of Diane Denoir and Eduardo Mateo in their early years. These previously unreleased tracks, recorded between 1966 and 1968 in various settings, blend bossa nova, chanson française, jazz, and pop in unique ways, revealing another side of the South American scene during the 1960s. Born as Diana Reches, Diane Denoir made her debut as a singer in 1966, backed by Eduardo Mateo on guitar. Influenced by Françoise Hardy and Astrud Gilberto, along with her own unique style, she performed a special blend of chanson française, bossa nova (sung in Portuguese, English, and French), and jazz. By then, Mateo was already a well-known guitarist in the Uruguayan music scene and a sought-after arranger. He was also beginning to establish himself as an incredible songwriter, connecting different musical universes in unique ways. The two formed a fruitful artistic partnership that lasted until the early seventies. This album, originally released in 1998 on CD, is a compilation of various unreleased recordings from different sources (concerts, radio and TV recordings, homemade tapes) made between 1966 and 1968. It is a unique document that showcases their incredible musicianship and creativity in their early years. The duo swings from bossa nova classics like "The Girl from Ipanema" to the rhythm and blues of "Fever," including chanson française standards like "Le lendemain" and "La Dernière Valse." The album also features earlier versions of the three best-known Mateo songs performed by Diane: "Y hoy te vi," "Esa tristeza," and "Mejor me voy," all of which were inspired by Diane. Inéditas unveils a new dimension of South American music from an unforgettable era.

Blending Afro-Uruguayan traditions with rock, soul, jazz, and funk, Ruben Rada has shaped the music of Uruguay and Argentina from the 1960s to the present day. Throughout his career, he has consistently been surrounded by talented musicians who have been integral to his sound. This was especially true with Daniel "Lobito" Lagarde, bassist and founding member of the iconic band Totem in the early 1970s; Ricardo Nolé, keyboardist, arranger, and musical director of Rada's band in Argentina during the 1980s; and Nelson Cedréz, the drummer who has been by Rada's side since the 1990s. In 2016, these three musicians reunited to form Rada's Old Boys, releasing an album of jazz-infused reinterpretations of Rada's songs that earned rave reviews. Now, they return with Manos, a bold new album that reimagines Rada's works from every phase of his career, featuring deeply personal renditions and a special guest appearance from Rada himself on one track.

Buh Records presents Primera Secuencia, the debut album by Ballet Mecánico, the project of Fernando Pinzás. After his time in the synth-punk band Varsovia, Pinzás embarks on a new phase as a solo artist and producer, exploring electronic styles from the 1980s like synthpop, Hi-NRG, Italo disco, and techno pop. The album blends synthesizers, programmed sequences, and pulsating basslines to create a nostalgic yet danceable soundscape. Set against the backdrop of the pandemic and social movements in Peru, each track tells a story, featuring guest vocalists from the Peruvian independent scene, including Susana Fátima (Gomas), Noelia Cabrera (Blue Velvet, Silveria), Kat Kathia, Luxsie, Luminiscencia, Anabhell (Las Ratapunks), Laura Rosales (Solenoide), and Elva Cío (Specto Caligo). Singles "No Cederé" and "Testamento" define the project's dark and ethereal pop aesthetic. "No Cederé," featuring Susana Fátima, critiques societal notions of success over an Italo disco and Hi-NRG beat. The track includes a remix by Italoconnection, the duo of Fred Ventura and Paolo Gozzetti, who take it into a hypnotic, spacey realm. "Testamento," with Luminiscencia, reflects on the emotional weight of the pandemic, blending synthpop and ethereal pop. Other standout tracks include "La ciudad de los incendios," a dystopian vision of Lima with dark disco rhythms, and "Como la última vez," a synthpop-driven, melancholic song featuring Noelia Cabrera. Produced by Pinzás with Antonio Ballester, Omán Morí, Rafael Benavides, and Juancho Esquivel, the album was mastered by José Marcos Aguilar Villanueva (Antinori) and features artwork by Gonzalo de Montreuil.

From the whirlwind year of 1971 comes the sole album by Plum Nelly, an underrated gem in the world of U.S. progressive hard rock. Deceptive Lines is a masterclass in complex arrangements, jazzy touches, and searing proto-metal guitar riffs, drawing comparisons to legends like The Allman Brothers, Pink Floyd, and Black Sabbath. The album seamlessly blends heartfelt ballads with hard-hitting psych epics and electrifying guitar-driven jams. Despite the band's undeniable talent -- these young New Yorkers were barely out of their teens -- poor promotion left this record flying under the radar upon its original release. But this reissue is here to change that, giving Deceptive Lines the spotlight it deserves and ensuring this hard rock classic is no longer a hidden treasure.
