Delayed until 2026... "A massive photographic archive of Lee 'Scratch' Perry's legendary recording studio. A 600-page tribute to one of the most famous locales in music history, Black Ark is a detailed inventory of photographs and writings from the Black Ark Studios in Kingston, Jamaica, where producer Lee 'Scratch' Perry created music from 1973 onward. The eclectic and constantly evolving decoration of the studio provides an enduring visual counterpart to Perry's expansive musical catalog. From mural paintings to shape-shifting assemblages of records, instruments, found objects, posters and newspaper clippings, the artworks layer upon one another as they intertwine with the studio building itself. Perry created his own dense and diverse world in which to work: memorialized in this volume before the Black Ark disappears for good. The photographic documentation of the studio in the spring of 2021 was supplemented by efforts to secure and preserve Perry's works, objects and recordings as part of a joint project with the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, DC. Black Ark reflects the rhythm and layering effects of collage both in its content and the materials used to craft the book. Perry was involved in the development of this publication until his death in August 2021. The book closes with memorial essays from Ishion Hutchinson, David Katz, Kodwo Eshun, and John Corbett. Lee 'Scratch' Perry (1936-2021) was a musician and producer best known for pioneering the dub genre in the 1970s. He worked with well-known Jamaican artists such as Bob Marley and the Wailers, the Heptones, the Congos, and Max Romeo. In 2003 he won a Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album."

Delayed... "Duke Ellington was one of the most important and influential figures in the entire history of jazz, as pianist, bandleader, composer and innovator, his career spanned the evolution from the early days of electric recording. However, while critics and commentators focus on his over-arching significance as a giant of the medium, it's easy to forget that he was a genius at composing tune and songs for the medium of the three-minute, 78rpm single, and during the first three decades of his career before rock 'n' roll changed the pop landscape irrevocably, he had more than 70 records that were credited as chart hits. The Duke himself preferred not to have his work referred to as 'jazz' but liked people to see it as he himself saw it, as being 'beyond category,' simply 'American music.' In a career lasting six decades, he attracted the very best musicians to his orchestras, and gifted to the world many of the jazz standards we know and love today This LP brings together some of his most iconic compositions, including timeless classics such as the Billboard R&B No.1 'Don't Get Around Much Anymore,' alongside stalwarts of the jazz canon 'Mood Indigo,' 'Sophisticated Lady,' 'Solitude,' 'Caravan,' 'Take The 'A' Train,' and 'It Don't Mean A Thing (If You Ain't Got That Swing).' It's a fantastic insight into his most successful output during a primary era of his career, and a great showcase for the artistry which made the Duke such a revered and iconic personality."

Delayed... "B.B. King, the 'King Of The Blues' is an undisputed music icon. In a career spanning seven decades, he sold in excess of 50 million records, won 20 Grammy Awards, and played alongside artists such as Bono, Eric Clapton, The Rolling Stones, Elton John, and Stevie Wonder. A hard-working musician, King toured the world several times over, taking his extraordinary blues from the margins to the mainstream. His emotional and sophisticated soloing on his Gibson guitar, 'Lucille,' coupled with his subtle vibrato style, influenced a diverse range of artists, including, Keith Richards, Carlos Santana, Jimi Hendrix, Cream, Richie Sambora, and even 50 Cent. This fine collection brings together some of King's greatest early blues numbers. From his first hit single, 'Three O'Clock Blues,' timeless tracks such as 'Woke Up This Morning' and 'Everyday I Have The Blues,' the epic double sider 'Sweet Sixteen' finishing with his early sixties classics, 'Someday' and 'Peace Of Mind.' King was a pioneer from the very beginning, with this collection demonstrating just why the British blues bands of the late sixties revered him as a guitar god. King was inducted into the Blues Foundation Hall Of Fame in 1984, the Rock 'n' Roll Hall Of Fame in 1987, received the National Academy of the Recording Arts and Sciences Lifetime Achievement Award and awarded the Presidential Medal of the Arts in 1990. In 2006 he received the Medal of Freedom, America's highest civilian honor."

Dharmacide is a Spanish band known for their eclectic fusion of genres, blending elements of shoegaze and dreampop music. Tougher Than the Rest is their awaited second album. They take a step forward with a darker sound with gloomy riffs and ethereal voices in which they describe perfectly how the sound of a night full of random events would be like. "The Cigs, The Light, The Coffee and Crying," the LP's first single, features a powerful reverb-laden riff with a solo vocal melody in the middle of the chaos until breaking into a powerful chorus. Dharmacide's sound is marked by intricate guitar riffs, powerful drumming, and deep, emotive vocals that create a unique atmosphere. The band, with members of Alcalá Norte and Depresión Sonora, has made a huge impact on various stages, performing at renowned venues and festivals, including iconic spots in their home country as well as internationally, earning praise for their high-energy performances and thoughtful compositions. Their latest singles have been produced, mixed and mastered by Mark Gardener from Ride. Their sound is influenced by today's bands like Diiv, Warpaint, or Beach House but also by classic artists like Cocteau Twins, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, and Tom Waits.

"After more than thirty years of working with and performing the great repertoire, the music of Philip Glass has, in a way, almost revolutionized my life as a musician," confides Vanessa Wagner. An emblematic artist on the French music scene, winner of a Victoire de la musique award and director of the Chambord and Giverny festivals, Vanessa Wagner is as inspired in her interpretation of Mozart, Debussy, Tchaikovsky, and Dusapin as she is alongside Murcof and Rone. With her innovative and daring approach, she has established herself as a major influence on the classical music landscape, crossing boundaries and blazing inspiring trails. For InFiné, she has dedicated four albums to the major figures of this movement, John Adams, Meredith Monk, Brian Eno, and Ryūichi Sakamoto, as well as to the new generation Caroline Shaw, Bryce Dessner, and Nico Muhly. After giving numerous concerts based on these works, she felt the need to record in their entirety this essential monument in the history of music, which bridges the gap between the 20th and 21st centuries: Philip Glass's 20 Etudes for piano by Philip Glass. His approach helps to place these two books in the great repertoire, alongside the great cycles of studies by Ligeti, Debussy, Dusapin, and before them, Chopin and Liszt. The thread linking Philip Glass to Vanessa Wagner may be as simple as a detail: a moment, a pedagogy, a way of looking at the piano. In Words Without Music, Glass recalls his apprenticeship with Nadia Boulanger in Paris -- a lesson in rigorous received just as the Nouvelle Vague was about to shatter the conventions of cinema the conventions of cinema, just as the composers of the minimalist movement had done with the language of music. Nurtured by Ravel and Debussy, the great French pedagogue disciplined yet inquisitive minds, capable of embracing modernity without denying modernity without denying their heritage. The Complete Piano Etudes of Philip Glass is also available for the first time on vinyl, housed in a 4LP Box set (IF 1099LP).

Spot The Difference invites you to explore the Balcony's Paradise project through a new lens of chiaroscuro. Psychedelia alters perception, and from the first track, listeners journey through a timeless sonic space filled with echoes, mysterious atmospheres, and spherical guitar melodies. Lorenz O'Tool initially returned to Australia to work on some new stuff with his partner on drums and co-founder of the project, Jeremy Tayler. The album also features some covers of Television Personalities, two tracks by M.O.T.O., and one by Jeff Clarke of the Black Lips, three influential bands for O'Tool, who is also the guitarist and co singer of the Berlin post-punk Band Die Verlierer.

Spanish-born, Berlin-based artist JASSS, presents her third LP, Eager Buyers. It's the inaugural release on her own new platform called AWOS, which also encompasses musical, AV and art collaborations, live events, and a radio show. Eager Buyers is an observation of longing, of memory, of attempted connection, of lost innocence, and irreconcilable dreams. It's the sound of broken promises for a bright future, where rose-tinted glasses have lost their clarity, dirtied with disaffection over time. Across this sultry, smoky, cinematic epic, JASSS attempts to process mixed feelings amidst the modern malaise. Alluringly atmospheric and cerebral, but bold and direct, with high-spec sound design, JASSS spaces each element with expert definition. Searing swathes of noise nestle with crisp breakbeats, billowing bass, dark ambience, prepared piano, phosphorescent electronics and calibrated percussion. A sort of anti-nostalgia, the record lives in a contemporary purgatory of oblique moods which hover in the psyche, somewhere between uncertainty, foreboding, and guarded anticipation. The raw metal of bass guitar strings plays a key part too, ranging from ornate melodic phrases, shoegazy drones, and attitude-riven hard twangs. Vocals come from JASSS herself, plus James K and Alias Error on the track "It's A Hole." The heavy, hauntological atmospherics are in part due to the addition of field recordings -- the discreet, but spiritually-loaded incidental sounds of a place which can capture its history, with the acoustics somehow retaining an emotional imprint of lives long gone. If pressed for descriptive reference points, "masterfully-produced-post-punk-post-rockbaroque-gothy-dubby-trip-hop" might be a starting point, but that doesn't do it justice. Equally spectral in their dream-like quality are the musical signposts, where genre elements are familiar, but somehow also unplaceable, untethered from context, and beautifully strange in their new composite. At points there's an air of strangely dazed calm too -- a kind of frazzled cool in the face of desolation, and even tender, lighter moments, which glint through the cracks.

Just. Life. is FDC's second endeavor after their 2022 debut Some Kind Of Wisdom. The A-side draws inspiration from everyday life. Things that are often overlooked. Birds whistling. Just being somewhere spending time together. Whereas the first four tracks open up a can of playful jazz the B-side explores more heavy conceptualizations. Birth and love for a child and the passing of a friend. Life and death. The cyclicity of it all. Fruit Distro Collective is a project by long-time friends Boris van der Hoff and Tristan Coco. Raised on boombap beats, schooled through jazz composition and inspired by Afro and Latin styles. Pour some reel-to-reel tape sauce over it et voilá.

History of Silence is the first full body of work by Icelandic collective múm since 2013's Smilewound (MORR 124CD) and their seventh studio album to date -- recorded, deconstructed, put back together again, refined and finished over the course of two years. Vibrantly oscillating around a carefully curated palette of electronic and analogue sounds, the eight new tracks reflect the group's continuous strive to explore sonic spaces through subtle yet gripping songwriting. For a long time now, múm have been exploring the idea of distance in their music. Founded in Iceland in the late 1990s, the members soon began embarking on journeys across the world. Settling in, moving on, catching up: The concept of distance soon became an integral part of the collective's process. History of Silence leans into this idea, with space and time becoming indispensable pillars of the arrangements. While being coherent and structured, they echo their origins from different seasons, cities, and spaces -- neatly stitched together with unparalleled craftsmanship. On History of Silence time manifests in unexpected, liberating, and mesmerizing ways. It does not move reliably forward; it drifts, takes twists and turns, even disappears completely. Electronic textures blur into acoustic sounds, voices flicker and dissolve, melodies stumble and repeat. The arrangements often feel like they're wandering, gently resisting direction. Work on History of Silence began at Sudestudio in southern Italy. Additional recordings were made in Reykjavík, Berlin, Athens, Helsinki, New York, and Prague. The strings were recorded by Sinfonia Nord at the Hof concert hall, Akureyri, arranged and conducted by Ingi Garðar Erlendsson, who has worked with the band for many years. The orchestral elements don't dominate the record -- instead, they surface gently, adding depth and resonance to the songs without disturbing the songs' fragility. Contrary to what the album title suggests, History of Silence is a collection of bold and colorful songs, no matter how muted they might sound at times. They tickle like a feather drifting through the wind, ending up in unexpected places, stimulating long-forgotten thoughts and feelings, intimate moments of introspection. The songs move through the echoes those moments leave behind: the emotional traces of things unsaid, the weight of stillness. Offering closeness by means of distance and much-needed support. Bless.

Wewantsounds reissues Fairuz's classic album Chat Iskandaria released on Relax-in in 1987. The album sees "The Lebanese Diva" going back to her roots and interpreting classic songs by the Rahbani Brothers in her own style accompanied by hypnotic traditional orchestral arrangements. Coming with its original deluxe gatefold sleeve, the album -- curated by Mario Choueiry from Institut du Monde Arabe (Paris), who also wrote the liner notes -- has been newly remastered by Colorsound Studio in Paris. Fairuz is a living legend and one of the greatest divas of the Arab world. For more than sixty years, she has been at the heart of Arabic music, releasing landmark albums since the early '50s and performing on stages around the globe. Fairuz rose to prominence through her collaboration with the Rahbani Brothers (Assi and Mansour), a creative partnership that began in the 1950s and flourished through the 1970s, producing a vast repertoire of timeless songs that remain beloved across the Arab world and beyond. In the late 1970s, Fairuz shifted to a more modern sound with albums such as Wahdon (1979) and Maarifti Feek (1986), produced by her son Ziad Rahbani, blending jazz, funk, and other contemporary influences into her music. However, Chat Iskandaria, released in 1987, marks a return to her classic Rahbani sound, offering a more traditional yet captivating approach to Arabic music. The album sees Fairuz interpreting a selection of Rahbani Brothers compositions in their signature theatrical and orchestral style, with themes ranging from nostalgia and love -- including a heartfelt homage to the city of Alexandria -- to the passage of time, central motifs in much of their work the legendary poet Saïd Akl contributes to two songs, "Min Rawabina Al Kamar" and "Fattehhon Alay." Unlike her more experimental collaborations with Ziad Rahbani, Chat Iskandaria stays firmly rooted in traditional Lebanese and Levantine musical aesthetics. Rich in melody and poetic imagery, it showcases Fairuz at her most evocative, supported by the refined orchestral arrangements that defined her golden era with the Rahbanis. Chat Iskandaria is a must-have for lovers of classical Arabic music and a poignant reminder of the enduring artistic bond between Fairuz and the Rahbani Brothers. Wewantsounds releases the album on vinyl for the first time since its original 1987 release, featuring its beautiful gatefold sleeve, remastered audio and a new bilingual introduction by Mario Choueiry (Institut du Monde Arabe).

RELEASE DATE: 9/5/2025
LP version. American Dust is an ode to the beauty of the American Southwest, where vast desert landscapes hold stories both stark and tender. Eve Adams' characteristic folk noir weaves a vivid tapestry of love, sacrifice and quiet revelation, conjuring images of dust storms, stray dogs and far off trains. Somewhere out there in that broad and boundless landscape, Eve Adams has been living her own desert life, quietly writing the follow-up to 2021's Metal Bird LP. Where that album sang of liminal space, the dream-like turbulence of Holly-wood's golden age, American Dust is far more rooted in traditional storytelling; a eulogy for the American Dream channeled through that sweeping part of the country that holds such power and mystery. Slipping into different and varied costumes throughout its ten songs, it finds Eve not just observing the people around her but stepping into their shoes and peeling back the layers of their quiet lives. Adams writes from within. Weaving together themes of grit and romance, American Dust holds its focus on the bittersweet poetry of lives lived in solitude, most notably the women who sustain life at the center of it all. Eve is joined on American Dust by Canadian musician Bryce Cloghesy, aka Military Genius of Crack Cloud, who plays throughout and also helped produce the album. Musically bold and vivid, it's an ambitious and detailed stride forward from what's come before, the scope of album's narrative reflected in the radiant sweep of the playing. On top of gentle piano and guitar, gorgeous strings drift through the album, lending the songs a woozy sense of romanticism; a collaboration with Gamaliel Traynor (Cello) and Caroline's Oliver Hamilton (Violin). Musically it's lush and vibrant, intimate and cinematic side by side, and always bursting with warmth. But it's what it holds in its weary bones that elevates it to something truly special, something more than just a collection of songs penned in the heart of the desert. The characters it speaks of, and from, feel shadowed but wholly real, like they're bursting to share their stories that have remained hidden for years and years and they allow Eve Adams to grow as a songwriter.

With his new album Cruise Control, Satin Jackets presents a perfect musical soundtrack for relaxed moments that take listeners away from the stresses of everyday life. The title of the album is meaningful: Cruise Control stands for the feeling of switching on the autopilot, leaning back and enjoying the journey to the fullest -- an atmosphere that the album unfolds. The album is a collection of singles that have been released over the last few years and are all interwoven at their core. Because no matter where you listen to the songs, they work, images arise in your head and your feet rarely stay still. Satin Jackets remains true to himself with his album sound, as he repeatedly receives feedback from listeners who appreciate the positive mood in his songs and which always puts them in a good mood. The songs are first created in the producer's head and then develop together with the features, who add their own touch. For Satin Jackets, "the most important thing is this immediate feeling that it fits musically and atmospherically." This can also come out of nowhere, as was the case with David Bay and Small Black, who got in touch with the producer and it was an instant fit. "There are always those magical moments when a song comes out of nowhere. Once I had an idea for a chord sequence that I couldn't get out of my head, but somehow that certain something was still missing. I then spontaneously asked a bassist friend of mine if he would like to play something to it -- ten minutes later we had a hook that carried the whole piece. It's these unexpected, spontaneous inspirations that make the process so exciting." Cruise Control is more than just another album from Satin Jackets. It is an invitation to enjoy the moment and surrender to the music -- a soundtrack that creates a good mood and takes you on a relaxing journey. So just switch on the autopilot again, put on your headphones and let yourself go. Featuring Seint Monet and Nazzereene.
