Last copies... Splatter red/white vinyl. The Cutthroat Brothers are a duo of real-life barbers, the "Sweeney Todds of Rock", Jason Cutthroat on vocals and guitar and Donny Paycheck on drums. For this album, The King Is Dead, the duo called on another punk rock icon, Mike Watt (Minutemen, Stooges). Jack Endino (Mudhoney, The Sonics, Screaming Trees, L7, Soundgarden) produced, mixed, and mastered this LP. This album has the North Pacific sound all over. Their songs are about blood, death, drugs, sex, black magic, bad relationships, although not necessarily in that order. Artwork by Raymond Pettibon (SST). Limited to 300 copies.

As the frontman for the ferocious Lazy Cowgirls for over two decades, Pat Todd was a SoCal garage/punk godfather. In 2005, however, he sent the Cowgirls to the great saloon in the sky in order to get a fresh start. As you can take the boy outta the garage but you can't always take the garage outta the boy, traces of the Cowgirls' high-velocity vibe remain in The Rankoutsiders' sound. They follow a similar path to the latter-era Cowgirls -- fast and loud old-school punk on one hand, and hard but heartfelt honky tonk on the other. The Rankoutsiders -- part Chuck Berry, part Hank Williams, part Rolling Stones, part Johnny Thunders -- are the perfect vehicle to bring Pat Todd's visions to life, rocking like raging fury one minute and swaying like an Indian summer breeze the next. The album reflects the diversity of American rock n' roll. Love, hope, sex, death, betrayal, renewal -- it's all here. Pat Todd's songwriting is a road map that leads back to the self ? an existential longing to reside in the aesthetics of self-creation. Some call it art, others the blues, soul, country, rock n' roll. The Rankoutsiders are Pat Todd on acoustic guitar, harmonica and vocalist, Nick Alexander on electric and acoustic guitar, Kevin Keller on electric and acoustic guitar, and vocals on "The Ring, The Bottle & The Gun", Steven Vigh on bass along with drummer Walter Phelan. The Past Came Callin' was produced and engineered by former Sparks guitarist, Earle Mankey (The Cramps, Concrete Blonde, The Beach Boys, Possum Dixon). CD version comes in digipak.

Hound Gawd! Records releases the "new" The Candy Snatchers album Moronic Pleasures. Taking their name from an obscure, bizarre, and trashy '70s horror flick late one night after drinking heavily, The Candy Snatchers formed in 1992 in Virginia Beach. They are a mix of '60s garage, the Detroit sound and late '70s punk with the energy and intensity of any hardcore band. Besides the insanity that ensued as soon as they hit the stage -- breaking bottles, cutting themselves with the glass, blood everywhere, setting the bass on fire while being played, drums were routinely collided with and obliterated -- the band played amazingly well, with great songs in the vein of Dead Boys, early Misfits, Radio Birdman and The Saints. The band's end was because of the passing of guitarist and co-creator, Matthew Odietus in 2008. His death marked the end of an era for the band, leaving the rock 'n' roll community reeling. In 1997, with explosive new drummer, Sergio Ponce, they had written an impressive amount of new songs and were ready to start tracking them to tape for their second album. 19 songs were laid down at Compactor Studio; 17 planned for titled Moronic Pleasures and two slated for a 7". The 17 album tracks were given only a rough mix and dubbed onto cassette for the band to review; the two 7" tracks were given a proper, final mix and sent to the record label. After they did the basic tracks, Matt went back and added second rhythm guitar and solos. Vocals, same thing; Larry belted out one song after another -- they simply played the songs from a setlist. Then they mixed and off they went. For some inexplicable reason that has gone to the grave, Matt rejected this session. The second attempt to record was a quick stop at Andy Slob's basement studio in Cincinnati, Ohio, while they were on tour. The band was supposedly unhappy with the overall sound and rejected these sessions as their new album. With both attempted sessions rejected, the band eventually headed back to NYC to re-record most of the songs for the third time. This session became their second album, Human Zoo (1998). Moronic Pleasures as recorded at Compactor Studio is the Candy Snatchers at their zenith; the performances are stronger and the feel of the songs is sleazier. Includes download.

Hound Gawd! Records is pleased to announce the release of the self-titled debut album by J.D. Hangover. "It is primal, visceral and dangerous, it snarls and seethes, bullies and bruises," explained Dancing About Architecture Magazine. After a string of floorshakin' gigs across Europe and the UK with such likeminded souls as Boss Hog, The Scientists, PIL, and Alejandro Escovedo, they blipped on the radar of Hound Gawd! Records. The upshot of all this is that the J.D. Hangover EP will now be available on good hard honest vinyl, how it was meant to be heard. And that's the truth. This album is recommended to fans of experimental rock n' roll and bands like The Gun Club, Suicide, Boss Hog, Gallon Drunk, and Lightnin' Hopkins. Features members of Stiv Cantarelli and The Silent Strangers. 140 gram vinyl.

Hound Gawd! Records release the new Morlocks album titled, Bring On The Mesmeric Condition. The band was founded by Leighton Koizumi, singer for San Diego's most outrageous garage rock revival band, Gravedigger V. Through break-ups, break downs, personnel changes, changing cities, and shifts in popular culture, The Morlocks have continually grown stronger. Surprising, then, that in 1999, Spin Magazine printed an inaccurate story declaring the death of their energetic, charismatic lead singer Leighton Koizumi. Needless to say, Leighton (far from being dead) continues to lead the charge, a duty he has held since the band's debut LP Emerge (1985). The Morlocks have continued to perform and make records, a number of which have been featured prominently in movies, television shows, and video games. Now, the re-vamped and resurrected, the Morlocks are ready to spread their wings like a Phoenix rising from the ashes. Currently based out of Düsseldorf, Germany Leighton has enlisted a who's who of European fuzz masters. Starting with Rob Louwers on drums (Fuzztones, Q-65, Link Wray), Oliver Pilsner on bass (Fuzztones, Cheeks, Montesas, Magnificent Brotherhood), Bernadette on guitar (Sonny Vincent, Humpers), and Marcello Salis (Gravedigger V, Hangee V). Recorded by Alaska Winter at various secret locations in Germany, including stops in "The Black Forests" of Freiburg, the seedy underbelly of the Rhine (Düsseldorf/Köln) and East-meets-West (Berlin). Mixed and mastered by the notorious Jim Diamond of Dirtbombs fame, to give it that special "Motor City" grit and grease that is required on a Morlock record. Alas it´s been a while since the release of The Morlocks Play Chess (2010), Bring On The Mesmeric Condition features something never before offered on a Morlocks LP: all original songs!

Hound Gawd! Records present the release of Chico Purito!, the debut studio album by Oviedo's favorite garage punk rockers, Hey Honcho & The Aftermaths. The Spanish Illustrator Mr. Bratto enthuses, "Evil has a plan and here's the livin' example." The band formed in 2015 as Aftermaths and released their first EP titled, A Natural Fancy in 2015, followed by the seven-inch, The Way, before Von Gustopher, aka Hey Honcho, joined the band in 2017. The now called Hey Honcho & The Aftermaths feature members of Los Ass-Draggers, Amon Ra, and Electric Children. They pretty much nail the sound for which Spanish garage rock is infamous: vibrant, high energy, and dangerously catchy. Chico Purito! is for fans of DMZ, Pleasure Fuckers, The Dictators, and The Real Kids. From opener "Sally Can't Wait" to "Ejecter" the tracks are masterfully wrought punk rock tunes with heart-wrenching vocals. This paunchy debut album is packed full with 13 simple and intense "classics" including "All This And More", a tribute to the Dead Boys. At the risk of corniness in conveying the sterling truth, Chico Purito! could be considered to represent Von Gustopher on lead vocals, drummer Dani Thunder, guitarist Diego Manfredo, and Héctor Castanon on bass arriving at a "next level,", but next after what? They appear to have skipped a few. Chico Purito! was recorded live in one day at Ovni Studios in Asturias, Spain in April of 2017. Mike Mariconda produced and mixed the album at his private Sol de Sants Studios in Barcelona. Mariconda has produced countless garage rock bands, like the Devil Dogs, Cosmic Psychos, Spaceshits, and the New Bomb Turks, while leading the pack as guitarist of his own garage band The Raunch Hands. Go loco with Hey Honcho & The Aftermaths! Includes download card.

Hound Gawd! Records release The Ringleaders' debut album titled Bi-Coastal Blasphemy. Every few years a band will come out and grabs you by the throat as a wild bunch of coyotes. The debut album from this new superstar crew consisting of the twisted evil genius of Larry May of The Candy Snatchers on vocals, Hans Molnar of The Hellbenders on loud-raw guitar, Mark Ho the bassist for LA's most outrageous punk outfit Hollywood Hate, plus drummer Tim Bender of Death By Stereo, pounding out a noisy hell. Gavin Ross (Bloodjunkies, Scott "Deluxe" Drake) produced the first eight tracks, which include "Gold Coast Woman", a raw and wild track, that delivers a brand-new batch of bruisers -- as you can expect from Larry May. "Bed Of Lies" is controlled chaos until the volcano erupts and The Ringleaders deliver on all levels. "Own Worst Enemy" recorded by Matt Hyde (Monster Magnet, 69 Eyes) is sheer feral frenzy backed with "Run Around Clown" which will scare yer ass and shake it at the same time. Bi-Coastal Blasphemy is recommended to fans of the Zeke, Nashville Pussy, Electric Frankenstein, and The Hellacopters. Prepare to have yo' ears scorched and yo' asses whipped, cauz this lil' baby does kill!
