"'One of the countless Harvey Milk recordings I've accumulated over the years is a spotless recording of the band performing on Atlanta radio stalwart WREK 91.1 over at Georgia Tech. The year is 1994 and the band has barely been a band for less than two years. Two freakin' years. Harvey Milk drove into Atlanta on a weeknight to perform their puzzling Southern Gothic dirge for the weirdos that religiously tune in to hear the vanguard of Georgia music on the Tech station. All these years later, I listen back to this recording and sit in sheer awe of what a fully formed, self-actualized and succinct powerhouse Harvey Milk had become so quickly after their beginning not two years prior. While the band's full lengths are unassailably well conceived and air tight, their live performances of the era leaned more on the material that lurked on their many seven inch releases that sat dormant on local record shelves until the world outside of Georgia caught on, leading the locals to take stock in this puzzling and extremely righteous band. Taut megajams like 'Probolcoc/Jim's Polish,' 'Yer Mouse Gets My Dander Up' and 'Women Dig It' were merely tucked away in singles bins while their full length masterpieces had yet to find their fans across the globe. Nary a hair out of place. Sitting on my patio during an extended layover a couple years back, Tanner said 'anything you ever want to put out by me, Creston and Paulie is fair game.' Enter WhaRvEy milK. Perfectly sweetened by Jason NeSmith, this release shows a band not just at the height of their powers, but also a band on the balls of their ass. No recognition. No cult of devoted superfans. Yet. Just three dweebs becoming the astonishment we now know them to be. Sleeve photography by the always amazing Hillery Terenzi. Set list drawn by Tanner. Each copy comes with one of four repro flyers of the band playing around Athens and Atlanta during this time. All the other thankless slop done by yours truly because why the heck not. Dedicated with love to Doug Ahern.'"

"Chunklet Industries is proud to announce a breakthrough in broadcasting technology. For the first time, the BBC working hand-in-hand with intergalactic audio pioneers Man or Astroman present to you seven volumes of their famed U.K. radio sessions recorded between 1994 and 1997."
"Even at the time, it felt implausible that Man or Astroman would do over a dozen sessions at the mighty British Broadcasting Company. Initially it was the legendary John Peel who had the band on his Radio 1 show -- six times between 1993 and 2000 -- after Birdstuff sent him a postcard ordering him never to play the band. Peel allegedly had a shrine to our Auburn heroes at his country estate, and while we believe that to be true, we've yet to see photographic evidence. The list of bands that recorded a session for Peel (neƩ Ravenscroft) is mind boggling and estimable. Most American bands would be lucky to record a single Peel session. For Astroman to have played as much as they did at his request is an indisputable testament to the band's fevered devotion to performing. But also, let's be honest: John Peel had pretty great taste. As reference, The Fall performed on Peel's show more than 25 times between 1977, a year after the band was formed, and the death of leader Mark E. Smith in 2018. The fact that a decidedly obtuse and dorky band from Auburn, Alabama, would perform on Peel's show more times than The Jesus Lizard, Fugazi, and Nirvana combined is proof positive that Astroman truly put in the work, especially on the British airwaves. What the BBC documented in its studios peppered across the country was a band that evolved in plain view from a spazzy surf band into a shit-hot post-punk powerhouse." --Henry H. "Bombay Studios was an 8-track studio located in the sleepy backwoods village of Smyrna, Georgia which briefly operated from 1981 to 1983. During that time, Joe Perry, the proprietor of Bombay was a routine live sound engineer at venues sprinkled across Atlanta including the Agora Ballroom and 688. Most famously, he holds the distinction of recording the first studio session ever by R.E.M. Amongst the litany of bands that'd come in for a day or two and commit their material to tape was the upstart Athens five-piece Limbo District. While looking through third guitarist Kelly Crow's archive, Chunklet stumbled across an unmarked cassette tape of a three-song session. Jump ahead to famed collector Lo Yo Yo's Todd Ploharski who had the same session, but on the J-card was written 'Bombay.' And just like that, the band's second recording session from the spring of 1982 had been unearthed. This session is, indeed, the band's second line-up with Art In The Dark's Tim Lacy on guitar who strengthened the band's songwriting and performances. The three songs recorded 'Fetish This,' 'Daydreaming,' and 'Two Of Screams' have more in common with the art damaged New York No Wave scene than any oblique pop, rock or jangle in the Classic City at the time. Not coincidentally, Limbo bassist Davey Stevenson's big brother Gordon was the bassist in Teenage Jesus and the Jerks who would consistently send his kid brother missives from the front line of New York's scuzzy vanguard. Spotlessly restored by Jason NeSmith, 'Bombay' celebrates that day in Joe Perry's studio 42 years ago. All artwork was culled from the voluminous Limbo District archive. The front is original art by vocalist Craig Woodall while the back is by guitarist Kelly Crow who cribbed from German artist George Grosz for the main visual while Crow scribbled marker around it. Each copy of the record has a uniquely colored scheme done by various friends of Chunklet including musicians from Honey Radar, Lifeguard, Vangas, and other esteemed degenerates. The insert features a never before photo of the band in front of an S&M hangout called the Hell Hole off the main strip at Coney Island taken by Ellen McGrail in the spring of 1982. Also included are handwritten lyrics by Craig Woodall."

Originally released in 2013. "Repress on blue vinyl. Man Or Astroman have returned to earth for the human masses and after years of hibernation they are now unveiling their finest recorded work to date. it has been nearly 12 years since the band last released their intergalactic sonic wave forms, and the new album, Defcon 5...4...3...2...1 is here now with a striking validity that the band is unquestionably as both tuneful and energetic as they ever have been. The record combines ever-familiar Astro audio tones and the well-established playing ferocity that MoAM are known for, but yet now, there is an un- deniably evolution to the band that is both intuitive, logical and well crafted. Defcon is here and is here with imminent purpose. Recorded by Steve Albini and Daniel Farris."

"Tar were an uncompromising prolific Chicago four piece band from 1988 to 1995 who put out many records and toured the US and Europe frequently with the likes of The Jesus Lizard, Arcwelder, Unsane, Surgery, and Jawbox. Over thirty years since the original releases, Tar's first three 12-inches records are being reissued. Co-released by the band's No Blow Records and Chunklet Industries, the Handsome EP and full-length LPs Roundhouse and Jackson are being rediscovered. All three records were remastered and cut to lacquer by Bob Weston at Chicago Mastering Service. The artwork was painstakingly reimagined and recreated by the band's drummer, Mike Greenlees. This music has withstood the test of time. With the stunning remastering and 180gm pressing at Chicago's Smashed Plastic pressing plant, this is no regular reissue. With exacting detail, the highest quality and attention to detail, the listener and fans are invited to truly reexperience these releases anew. It's time to celebrate Tar. Again."
