Aurélien Hamm aka Saint DX introduces his debut album, Way Back Home. Although introspective and meditative, this album is more collaborative than ever: it features Ponko and Prinzly, with whom he co-produced Belgian rapper Damso's QALF album, as well as his friend and pianist Paul Prier and Jules Fradet. Renowned producer for Damso and Disiz, Saint Dx first came to prominence by accompanying Charlotte Gainsbourg on keyboards on her tour for the album Rest. His pop and electronic- original soundtracks inspirations can be called "ultra-classy pop" and romantism. His new single "Late" begins with an emotive, liberating cry and captivates with its potent synths.

RELEASE DATE: 12/15/2023
2023 repress as double heavy weight black vinyl, with original artwork and gatefold sleeve. Originally released in 2006. Even though 5:55 isn't technically Charlotte Gainsbourg's first solo album (that would be Charlotte for Ever, which was released [in 1986] when she was 15), it is her first solo album as an adult and, with the help of a dream team of collaborators, it's a fittingly sophisticated set that touches on her father Serge's brilliantly louche, literate pop without being overshadowed by it. Air's Jean-Benoit Dunckel and Nicolas Godin (who paid tribute to Serge Gainsbourg particularly well on 10,000 Hz Legend's Wonder Milky Bitch) wrote 5:55's delicate music, while Jarvis Cocker and the Divine Comedy's Neil Hannon penned its lyrics. This mingling of French and English influences is mirrored in Charlotte Gainsbourg's subtly expressive voice and accent, which provides the perfect complement to the album's lush sounds and vivid imagery.

LP version. Patrice Bart Williams, also known as Patrice, is a singer, composer, producer and director from Germany and Sierra Leone. In 20 years, he has released a dozen albums. His music is a blend of reggae, soul, punk, folk and hip-hop. He settled in Jamaica in 2020 and decided to build a studio in the middle of the forest. This atypical location became a meeting place for artists and inspired Patrice to explore new territory. Patrice returns in 2023 with a new album entitled 9, marked by rebirth and the symbolism of the color blue. This album is the result of seven years' work, a veritable introspection into the depths of his emotions. "I was born on the 9th, the day my grandfather passed away. The notion of rebirth has always been present in my life, from my very first day. For my ninth studio album, I took the time to withdraw, to rebuild myself. The last seven years have been devoted to self-discovery, and it's this inner journey that has given life to this album." --Patrice

The unbelievable story of a child who has been scared by life and finds salvation through the love of his dogs. This is the story of Dogman, Luc Besson's new movie, shown at the Venice Film Festival and the Deauville American Film Festival, and starring Caleb Landry Jones. Besson returns to the dark tones of his first feature films, centered on a character on the fringes of society. He once again enlists the services of his favorite composer, Eric Serra (Le Grand Bleu, Nikita, Le Cinquième Element, etc.), who is responsible for the music of almost all his films. Serra's worked with a philharmonic orchestra, the Budapest Scoring Orchestra, for this soundtrack. On top of Eric Serra's new music, it also includes "Non, Je ne Regrette Rien" and its English version "No Regrets" performed by Edith Piaf and "Autumn Star" by Sateen. Collector digipack CD.

German neo-classical techno trio Brandt Brauer Frick is back with Multi Faith Prayer Room their fifth album and probably their most ambitious to date. Recorded over the past two years, it includes collaborations with Mykki Blanco, Azekel, Marina Herlop, Kom_I, Sophie Hunger, and Duane Harden. Their new album is a great example of their modern and hybrid approach to electronic music. The band still combines acoustic drumming and drums machines, syncopated layered bass and hectic Steve Reich-inspired piano to create simultaneously analogic and synthetic techno tracks.

Born in 1947, Daniel Vangarde is a French songwriter and producer. In 1967, he met Jean Kluger who became his publisher. In the 1970s, their tandem stood out in those fields, for a plethora of popular French artists such as Petula Clark, Claude François, Joe Dassin, Dalida, Régine, Sheila, and Ringo. 1975 saw the birth of Vangarde's label, Zagora, and his first and only solo LP. Later on, Vangarde and Kluger were responsible for a number of hit songs by The Gibson Brothers, Ottawan, and La Compagnie Créole. With or without Kluger, Vangarde also wrote and produced songs that remained underground, under several monikers (Starbow, Who's Who, Soul Iberica Band, Yamasuki, Rocky & Vandella...) and for various artists. Because Music opens these incredible cosmic disco funk vaults. Features Starbow, The Electronic System, Daniel Vangarde, Who's Who, Soul Iberica Band, La Boca, The Lovelets, Yamasuki, Ami Stewart, The Great Disco Bouzouki Band, Vicky Edimo, Gibson Brothers, Black Blood, La Compagnie Créole, Ottawan, Rocky & Vandella, and François Patrice.

Charlotte Dos Santos announces debut album MORFO with lead single "Hello Hello". Described as "assured as Solange" by The Guardian, Charlotte Dos Santos is a formidable multi-faceted producer and composer who has worked with the likes of Blood Orange and Gotts St Park, making music free of any confines.
"MORFO is a sonic tale about transformation, about love and pain. It's a playful journey through my deepest inner thoughts combined with elements of music I admire, such as soul, R&B, funk, MBP/samba, and classical. I am a child of the world, born in two cultures and on this album I am digging deeper into my ancestral roots and into my consciousness, and MORFO is the result." --Charlotte Dos Santos

LP version. Following Le Cut-Up Populaire (BEC 5676465/5676466, 2020), Pascal Comelade announces the release of his new album Le Non-Sens Du Rythme. Since his first record published in 1975, Pascal Comelade, a child of the frenzy rock of the '60s and '70s, has developed a profuse body of work including many musical collaborations (PJ Harvey, Robert Wyatt, Jaki Liebezeit (Can), Lee Ranaldo, The Liminanas...) and non-musical collaborations (Jeanne Moreau, Sergi Lopez, Jean François Stévenin, Bob Wilson...) His compositions are reminiscent of MC5, Erik Satie, Nino Rota, Ennio Morricone, Suicide: a language that dances on a musical skeleton in perpetual movement by successive fusions, mixing folklore and underground, repetitive music and French chanson, pataphysical riffs and toy instruments. As a multiple artist, he has developed an aesthetic approach via a particular link to visual arts. He draws, paints and occasionally performs with painters Miquel Barcelo and Hervé Di Rosa. On his new album, Le Non-Sens Du Rythme (to be translated "the nonsense of rhythm", the title says it all), Pascal Comelade almost plays all the instruments, not only multiple pianos but also the Rickenbaker e.bass, the Indian Harmonium, various keyboards, and even the tin can. He remains the undisputed master of the instrumental ritornello inspired by popular music as well as krautrock.

Ahead of the release of his much awaited debut album Blablablue, Belgian singer-songwriter Delv!s just shares a new single, the dreamy "Human Trumpet". It's no secret that Belgium owes much of its cultural prestige to its vibrant music scene. Lately, with much of the attention turned to Flanders, the Flemish side of the country is playing host to many exciting, genre-bending projects, including a tremendously innovative rap scene and a lively pool of electro bands walking in the footsteps of pioneers such as Soulwax: a tradition that Delv!s, one of the country's most exciting newcomers to the soul, blues, disco-funk and pop genres, is set on honoring. Delv!s is now ready to introduce Blablablue to the world: a soul album infused with electro, funk, and rock sounds, blended with a score of field recording samples; twelve tracks all penned by himself, unveiling a whirlwind of emotions that fuel the singer's unique voice. The nostalgic brass arrangements and vintage-sounding harmonies may evoke Billie Holiday, Nina Simone, or even James Brown at times, but Blablablue nevertheless triumphs as a current and socially relevant record thanks to its topical commentary and diverse influences. Addressing many of the great issues plaguing the world today, including the sense of urban solitude, this is the first offering by a great artist, a sensitive soul also fluent in the language of love. Something to reflect on, unite us and even comfort us at times when we need it the most.

LP version. Built around the successes of his soundtracks and songs for the movies of Christophe Honoré, Alex Beaupain's profile in the "chanson française" landscape is quite unique. Beaupain alternates between soundtracks, songs he writes for others (mainly great French actresses) and his own solo albums. In March 2021, Beaupain paid tribute to the late Serge Gainsbourg for the 30th anniversary of his passing during a special live on-air event where he covered in full, with the Radio France Philharmonic Orchestra, Gainsbourg's penultimate shocking album from 1984: Love On The Beat. This experience led him directly in the studio with Saint DX as producer, the French-American duet Faux Real singing backing vocals and a full string section to re-record this cult album with a 2021 twist. He had also dreamed of covering that particular album that had so much impact on him, musically and lyrically, when he first discovered it. The '80s funky sound of the record, produced by Billy Rush, was a new start for Gainsbourg and at the time, the lyrics shocked everyone but achieved to avoid any censorship.
"I was 10 when Love On The Beat was released in 1984. Covering the full album was an idea I always kept somewhere in my mind as I was fully aware of the long-lasting impact this particular record had on all the teenagers at the time. This collection of songs is far from being the most covered or talked about works form Gainsbourg, but I've always had the feeling they were 'mine'. That everything started there for me and that, one day or the other, I would have to come back to it." --Alex Beaupain
