Cologne-based record label Magazine celebrates the 15th anniversary of Barnt's visionary anthem Geffen. One of electronic music's most defining tracks of the 2010s is reissued, marking the first time it receives its own dedicated standalone release. Looking back, one can hardly imagine Geffen without the 2010s, or, conversely, maybe even electronic music of that era without it. The composition mirrors the expressive possibilities of bedroom producers at the beginning of that decade -- an era where artists could launch tracks into the world and have them resonate through their sheer sonic power, without major marketing efforts. The release comes with two very Magazine-esque reinterpretations from the label's two other co-founders alongside Barnt: a powerful atmospheric club remix by Jens-Uwe Beyer, and Magazine Hallucination, a wild, collaborative, psychedelic mutation by Crato and Beyer.
