This is part one of Marco Carola's Plus series. Classic elements combine to create pure techno funk. A master of the monotonous groove, Carola never forces the issue, he just lets it flow. "Jackpot" is a stripped down, two-step workout that recalls the strutting bass groove and party vibe of Van Helden's classic "Funk Phenomenon." "Swingback" leads off in a more minimal direction with beats supplemented by bleeping percussion parts and a Teutonic snare with a formidable array of effects.
