RUFF 003EP
|
The long-awaited first release from Melbourne diva house/bizarro group Zanzibar Chanel. "If Ru Paul and William Onyeabor had a love child," states the back cover -- a hint of the quirky funky productions that have come to define the sound of Zanzibar Chanel. Elements of Andras Fox tape funk and Tornado Wallace's sun-bathed synths, but with the raw edges of MPC production and a "don't give a fuck" DIY approach. This is the first vinyl release from Australian label Ruff Records, the lovechild of Zanzibar front-man and solo producer Zac Segbedzi.
