ECHOCOL 040EP
|
Buenos Aires born producer Sebastian Gelante, aka Seph, joins Echocord Colour with Teleport EP. Across the Teleport EP, Seph delivers his signature smooth, dubbed-out, and intricate style and the title-track takes the lead with billowing pads, bumpy off- kilter rhythms, and choppy stab sequences galore before "Delta" strips back the vibe to raw drums and murky synth textures while ethereal pads ebb-and-flow through the composition. "Motion" rounds out the package, taking a straighter approach rhythmically to allow the snaking dub stabs, rumbling low-end tones, and evolving hats to take the lead.

CF 014EP

Seph comes with his hands full of bass energy in the form of the Suzbu EP. "Genbu" doesn't play around, it goes straight to the deep bass kick and whirring, like a machine powering up after a long hibernation. "Suzaku" features vocal cuts, deep kick, and wide melodies. Produced together with Pablo Denegri, we come to "Unti" -- a nightmare-ish world of machines and percussion.

"11am welcomes again one of our favorite afterhour artists: Seph from Buenos Aires (Argentina). He offers again one piece of dark and complex musical art. 'That Hooded' is the main and most special track on the release. It's some kind of break minimal with a fucked up bass and a weird and melancholic melody. It's perfect for breaking out a set. 'Aranias' opens side B, its the deepest track on the release and offers the typical glitchy Seph-style. 'Ivil' ends this fantastic record with a funky bass full of clickclakclickclak and all that. It has been already played by Troy Pierce, Magda, etc."
