2LP version. Hans Nieswandt -- the Jack of Clubs around the world -- has completed countless remixes throughout his life. This release is the first collection of remixes that he has done for his favorite artists, compiled and annotated by Nieswandt himself. Browsing the track list, Nieswandt confesses: "Looking at this collection of remixes I did for some of my favorite artists, I realized: all I can do is disco (and house -- but that's basically the same to me). Remixing, for me, essentially means making disco versions of songs. Whatever the song, I discofy it, I house it up. It's especially fun to do it with a song that never knew it could be disco in the first place. Maybe that's why I've remixed so many songs with sophisticated German lyrics, lately -- there's a global shortage of that type of disco. What the world needs now is more disco with smart German text. So, in all humbleness, that's the kind of disco I'm delivering here. Welcome to my haus!" Includes free download code.

"Finally -- a new album by Hans Nieswandt! The former Whirlpool Productions protagonist has already released the two EPs on Ware: So Fein (ware 40) and You Don't Know Shake It (ware 32). His first solo album Lazer Muzik was released on Ladomat in 1999, which happens to be the same year that Nieswandt and Mathias Schaffhäuser started working together. 'Loom Service' (ware 4) and a remix of Schaffhäuser's 'Desire' (ware 3) were the fantastic results. Five years after their first collaboration, The True Sound Center is yet another highlight. Aside from Nieswandt's typical deep H-Music excursions, the album also features a heart rendering cover version of Rio Reiser's 'Dr. Sommer', most beautifully sung by Isis Zerlett. The lyrics to 'Wir Sind Kalt' were written by none other than Erobique. 'Ich vermiss die Zeit (Bleib)' is a folksong by Gabriel Ananda (who also sings on it), arranged and produced by Hans." [CD version will be on Mute in the US]

Another fine quality addition to Ladomat's roster (following recent releases by the likes of Turner, Sensorama, Forever Sweet, etc.) Elegant house with pop leanings. "Hans Nieswandt has been making music since the late 1980s. As DJ, journalist and member of Whirlpool Productions. Nieswandt is well-known and there should be no club in Germany that he hasn't played in. Later as 'Jack of all Trades" pop star and head of the trinity that is Whirlpool Productions, he has not only given us joy in the form of 'From: Disco To: Disco' but has also simultaneously won all kind of (Olympic) Games, hasn't he? Lazer Musik is a leisure dome, a panopticum of 'H-Musik' (who's nothing but 'Hans Musik'), because 'Lazer' means leisure and is also a gamble with meanings. There are many ways but never pretend to know the right one. 'Freaks, I see life' -- it echoes towards us when Hans Nieswandt sharpens his sight. 'The house next door' does not always have to be the club around the corner and pop ballads are not necessarily evil. No, it's not over yet, it has only just begun. Lazer Musik is art, a grown necessity. It is also this way with records that draw their strength from fragments of history."
