South London blues-rock band Killing Floor was formed in the late 1960s with lead singer and harmonica player Bill Thorndycraft, guitarist Mike Clarke, bassist Stuart McDonald, pianist Lou Martin, and percussionist Bas Smith, with Muddy Waters their foremost inspiration. After an eponymous debut album produced by former music writer John Edward, issued by the independent Spark label (and licensed to Sire in the US), Killing Floor was signed by Larry Page, who placed follow-up LP Out Of Uranus on Penny Farthing, again with Edward in the producer's chair. In contrast to the debut LP, Out Of Uranus had heavy acid rock and psychedelic leanings, as heard on the anti-religion title track and songs like "Acid Bean", though "Where Nobody Ever Goes" was more in standard blues-rock mode. As was the case with several other Page projects from the period, poor album sales made the release a true rarity, its scarcity keeping it in high demand today. Original artwork in gatefold sleeve, licensed by original rights owner Larry Page Productions.

Hailing from the small, conservative market town of Huntingdon in Cambridgeshire, The Charlottes rose from the ashes of a short-lived band called The Giant Polar Bears; before that, bassist David Fletcher had been in Red Over White, guitarist Graham Gargiulo had played in Mithrandir while drummer Simon Scott would eventually end up in Slowdive; early vocalist John Lindsell was replaced by Petra Roddis. Their debut single, "Are You Happy Now", issued on the short-lived local independent, Moleworth Records, was in melodic power-pop mode; debut album Lovehappy was recorded in Bristol and released by Martin Whitehead's Subway Organization in August 1989, to rave reviews. Championed by John Peel, it showcased their evolving "Wall of Guitar" sound, moving away from the tamer pop beginnings. Follow-up EP Love In The Emptiness showed continued growth, the song constructions becoming more complex and layered, and when the group signed to Cherry Red in 1990, the single Liar began making waves in America, though the group somehow split right at this high-water mark; thankfully, the EP and single are both included on our expanded Lovehappy reissue. 180 gram vinyl.

Radiation Deluxe Series present a reissue of Eater's The Album, originally released in 1977. Formed in early stages of the British punk explosion by four high school mates in Finchley, north London, Eater quickly established themselves as one of the youngest and rawest bands on the scene. Lead singer Ashruf Radwan had an Egyptian heritage, hidden by his alias, Andy Blade, and guitarist Brian Haddock became Brian Chevette once in the fold; Ashruf's brother Lutfi was the group's first drummer, joining under the name Social Demise, but was soon replaced by Roger Bullen, playing under the moniker Dee Generate, while future Vibrator Ian Woodcock was the resident bassist from their second gig. Inspired by a line in the T Rex song, "Suneye", Eater was influenced by the classier side of glam rock but was very much a rapid-fire power-punk concern with their own output. Headlining spots at the Roxy club alongside The Damned, The Lurkers, and Sham 69 solidified their reputation, especially once their material made it onto the live compilation album issued by Harvest in 1977, and after footage of their appearances at the club were included in Don Letts's Punk Rock Movie. Signing to Dave Goodman's fledgling punk imprint, The Label, Eater issued three singles before their greatly anticipated debut album (which surfaced after future Slaughter and the Dogs member Phil Rowland joined on drums), which has since been hailed as an all-time classic; pointing their fingers at upper-class twits on songs like "Lock It Up" and taking the piss out of themselves and their fans on "No Brains", the album also features two Velvet Underground covers and an unusual David Bowie adaptation, all delivered in no-holds-barred triple time. Includes three bonus tracks. Printed inner sleeve; 60x40cm poster. First 150 individually numbered copies on orange vinyl.

Radiation Deluxe Series present a reissue of Newtown Neurotics' Beggars Can Be Choosers, originally released in 1983. As suggested by the name of the group, Newtown Neurotics was a product of suburban Britain. Formed in 1979 in the anonymous town of Harlow in Essex (which had been established as a planned city to house displaced families in the aftermath of World War II), lead singer, guitarist and songwriter Steve Drewett took an openly socialist stance within the band, steering their music in a bid for stimulating social change, much in the manner of Joe Strummer in The Clash or punk troubadour, Billy Bragg; The Ramones also provided early musical inspiration, along with the deep and heavy sounds of roots reggae from Jamaica. Along with bassist and backing vocalist Colin Dredd (AKA Colin Masters), demos and early singles featured drummer Tig Barber, who was replaced by Simon O'Brien (AKA Simon Lomond) in 1981. The cassette release Pissed As A Newt surfaced in small quantities, but their proper debut album arrived in 1983 in the form of Beggars Can Be Choosers, a masterwork of political punk with pop and reggae leanings; in addition to spurring their listeners to wake up and take direct action on the disc, the album also addresses teen angst, messy relationships and the caustic nature of boredom and apathy, as well as gender inequality and racial tensions. Closing number, "Living With Unemployment" was co-written by JM Carroll and Nicky Tesco of The Members. Includes 60X40cm poster. First 150 individually numbered copies on red vinyl.

Formed in 1979 in the northern English town of Fleetwood, Lancashire (a former major fishing port that had declined since the 1960s), One Way System was one of the most highly-rated "street punk" groups that spun off from the British hardcore and Oi scenes. Mowhawk-sporting lead singer Gavin Whyte was initially joined by guitarist Craig Halliday, bassist Gaz Buckley, and rapid-fire drummer Tez McDonald; the early demos of "Jerusalem", "Spokesmen For Teenagers", and "1980s" included here were cut with that lineup, before former Zyklon B member David "Crabby" Ross joined as second guitarist, yielding the incendiary single "Stab The Judge" and the No Entry EP, issued by Blackpool's Lightbeat Records in 1981. Halliday later quit the group and when McDonald joined The Fits, accomplished drummer Tommy Couch brought a totally different musical dimension, his command of the kit well beyond the abilities of most of his contemporaries. In addition to the demos and the Lightbeat material, this compilation also collects the singles and EPs issued by Cherry Red's Anagram subsidiary between 1982-84, including the inaugural 45, "Give Us A Future". Include 60x40cm poster.

The story of northern English band Blitz follows something of an unusual trajectory. Formed in the small industrial town of New Mills in Derbyshire (once known for coal mines, cotton mills and calico bleaching), Blitz began as a hardcore concern, their first two albums considered classics of the "street punk" and Oi subgenres of the early 1980s, but third album Second Empire Justice shifted their sound in a totally unexpected post-punk/new wave direction, with intricate arrangements, greater musical complexity and a generally softer style. Unfortunately for the group, the album was a commercial failure that spelled their ultimate demise, yet just as the band bit the dust, bassist Neil McLennan and guitarist Nidge Miller formed Rose Of Victory with drummer Gary Bowler and engineer Nigel Beverley on vocals, cutting a one-off version of Bowie's "Suffragette City", coupled with an equally intriguing Miller instrumental on the flip. Rose Of Victory never lasted beyond this initial offering, however, leaving the single a unique memento of their faltering creativity.

2022 repress; black vinyl version on 140 gram vinyl. Radiation Deluxe Series present a reissue of The Kids' second album Naughty Kids, originally released a mere eight months after their groundbreaking 1978 self-titled debut LP (RRS 113LP). The Kids' second album is a pure masterpiece of straightforward punk rock. A little less raw than their previous material, but still far from the new wave sounds the band started experimenting with on their following records, Naughty Kids remains one of the best examples of non-UK '70s punk and definitely a mandatory addition to the collection of any Killed by Death fanatic! Includes five bonus tracks recorded live in 1978.

Black vinyl repress. Limited edition of the recording of the Sex Pistols live performance at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome in 1996. This was the very first Pistols reunion, the so called "Filthy Lucre" tour featuring the original line-up with the legendary Glen Matlock on bass. On July 10th, the band appeared in Rome as part of a one-day festival, sharing the stage with heavy weights such as Iggy Pop, Bad Religion, Slayer, and Sepultura. The Pistols threw out a killer set featuring the most of their hits, "No Feelings", "Pretty Vacant", "Holiday In The Sun", "God Save The Queen", and other generational punk anthems.

2021 repress; now on black vinyl. Controversial East Coast punk band Agnostic Front were lynchpins of the New York hardcore scene. Formed in 1982 by former Eliminators guitarist Vinnie Stigma along with vocalist John Watson, drummer Rob CribCrash, and bassist Diego, the band went through several other early members to settle on Vinnie Stigma, bassist Adam Mucci, drummer Raybeez, and Cuban-born singer Roger Miret for these recordings. Often misunderstood in their early days due largely to their majority skinhead following and the shock imagery of their record covers, the group carved out its reputation in the dilapidated Lower East Side of Manhattan, then blighty by poverty, drugs, violence, and high levels of urban decay. The recordings featured on this incendiary compilation date from the very start of their recording career, beginning with the demos that led to their debut seven-inch release, the self-issued United Blood EP (1983), bolstered by other recordings from the period that were left unissued at the time; some of the material included here later appeared on the Raw And Unleased CD (1995), but several songs are appearing on vinyl here for the very first time. Agnostic Front went on to reign supreme on the New York hardcore scene throughout the 1980s and although later recordings once again saw membership changes that brought a shift in style to include thrash-metal crossover elements, their longevity and high standing is such that they were featured on Showtime's The Godfathers of Hardcore documentary (2017), ultimately leading to Roger Miret's recently released autobiography, My Riot (2017).

Sold out, repress in 2022 sometime...Black vinyl version on Radiation Reissues. Formed in Fullerton, CA in 1978, Social Distortion were one of the original LA punk groups and their first single was released on legendary LA punk label Posh Boy. But far more rare than that first single ("Mainliner" b/w "Playpen") is the unreleased EP Poshboy's Little Monsters. This EP only made it to the test pressing stage back in 1981, and featured those two tracks from the first single along with "All The Answers" and "Justice For All". This is the absolute holy grail for Social Distortion fans and it's finally available in commercial form. Includes two bonus tracks.
"Of the three teenagers who recorded for me, one has died, another was believed to be dead and one became immensely wealthy from playing music. The one who did hard time in prison was not Mike Ness. It was the drummer Carrot, better known as John Stevenson, now living a very ordinary life in rural Florida. I now count John as a dear friend. Apparently, he was only 16 years old when he rolled into the studio that day in April 1981, armed with a taped-up pair of drumsticks. He played great as did both Mike and Dennis (RIP). This time there was no fighting in the studio over production values. I had promised Ness that we would not fight so once there was a minor disagreement over the artwork for the proposed 12", I dropped the project in favor of the Playpen/Mainliner 7" which sported iconic artwork from the band." --Robbie Fields, New Year's Day, 2019

Radiation Deluxe presents a reissue of Blitz's 1982 debut album, Voice Of A Generation, captured here on 180 gram vinyl with a faithful reproduction of the original inner sleeve. Raw, violent and catchy, Voice Of A Generation sounded like a shot of pure rock and roll through the violence of the English working class. Made up of two punks and two skinheads, with a lot to say about violence and football, Blitz appealed to all kinds of lowlifes, who finally had a voice for their generation.

RSD 2018 release. Radiation Deluxe Series present a reissue of Red Lorry Yellow Lorry's Talk About The Weather, originally released in 1985. Red Lorry Yellow Lorry were one of the finest post-punk groups of the mid-80s, founded in 1981 in Leeds by chief member Chris Reed. Molded after the likes of Wire and Joy Division, the Lorries combined angular walls of guitar noise with throbbing bass lines and drum machine to create a unique sound that was indebted to the first wave of UK post-punk but quickly evolved into a new sound all their own. After several singles on the Red Rhino label, the group released their debut LP in 1985. The group's finest effort, Talk About The Weather reached #3 on the NME album charts and has maintained a reputation as one of the best UK post-punk records of the 1980s three decades later. Essential stuff. Includes four bonus tracks. 180 gram vinyl; Limited edition of 500 (hand numbered).

RSD 2018 release. The Telescopes were founded in England in 1987 by chief member Stephen Lawrie and released several recordings in the late 1980s but it is in 1990, when the band signed to legendary label Creation, that they hit their stride and helped to define a decade of UK rock music. Fusing elements of psychedelia with noise-rock, and dreamy pop, The Telescopes were near the forefront of the early shoegaze scene and hugely influential on the next wave of early 1990s Brit-pop. This crucial collection complies all four of their 12" singles on Creation as well as a 1991 John Peel session and other bonus tracks. Radiation Deluxe Series present a reissue of The Crowd's A World Apart, originally released in 1981. "It is impossible to overstate the significance of The Crowd to the nascent L.A. hardcore scene. Whilst bands like early Agent Orange and Social Distortion were playing to handfuls of fans in northern Orange County, in 1979 The Crowd were already filling backyards on their home turf in Huntington Beach, California. Ironically, it was further afield in the San Gabriel Valley that I first saw them perform, opening for the still punk Go-Go's in a small club. Without the continuing success of The Crowd in 1979 and throughout the summer of 1980, I would have packed my bags for London. Instead, the L.A. hardcore scene lifted off!" --Robbie Fields, Poshboy Records. 180 gram vinyl. Edition of 500.

Radiation Deluxe Series present a reissue of Rhino 39's self-titled album, originally released in 1986. Formed in the late '70s at the same high school that spawned L.A. legends True Sounds Of Liberty, Rhino 39 had an unfortunate fate. After releasing one of the most legendary singles of the L.A. scene on Dangerhouse in 1979 - which included a track ("Prolixin Stomp") that is considered by many to be one of the earliest examples of L.A. hardcore - the lead singer, Dave Dacron, died in a car accident in April of 1980. His younger brother took over lead singing duties and though it took another six years for their self-titled debut LP to be released, it still sounds like classic early '80s L.A. punk. A legendary band with a long forgotten classic LP finally back in print on Radiation Deluxe. 180 gram vinyl. Edition of 500.

Radiation Deluxe Series present a reissue of Lol Coxhill's Ear Of Beholder, originally released in 1971. Ear Of Beholder is one of the most beguiling and adventurous records of the 1970s, which is saying a lot as that is a musical decade marked by groundbreaking creativity. Originally released on John Peel's Dandelion label, Lol Coxhill's sprawling double album debut is an avant-garde jazz masterstroke that features Robert Wyatt and much of the Whole World group, Kevin Ayers's backing band at the time (of which Lol was a member). Ranging from straight-up feedback to re-workings of standards, outdoor recordings to spoken word, improvisation to vaudeville, Ear Of Beholder covers more ground in two LPs than most artists do in a lifetime. Difficult, adventurous listening from one of British jazz's most brilliant innovators. 180 gram vinyl; Comes in a gatefold sleeve.

Radiation present a reissue of New Bottles Old Medicine, the 1970 debut from British group Medicine Head. A duo at the time, they had recently been discovered by the legendary John Peel who immediately signed them to his Dandelion record label, following with the release of this album. One of the more enigmatic and inventive groups of the British folk-rock scene, the duo's leader, John Fiddler would simultaneously sing, play guitar and operate a bass drum and hi-hat cymbal with his foot, while bandmate Peter Hope-Evans would play harmonica, jew's harp, and various percussion instruments. Creating a sound that was simultaneously ethereal and earthy, and with a voice that touched on the heartbroken vibes of Nick Drake and John Martyn, Medicine Head were truly one of the most brilliant groups of early '70s UK scene and rarely get the attention they deserve. This reissue comes as a deluxe 180 gram vinyl.

Formed in London in 1977 by Mark Perry and Alex Fergusson, then editors of the punk fanzine Sniffin' Glue, Alternative TV was a post-punk group known for incorporating reggae rhythms and pushing the boundaries of the definition of punk toward the experimental and avant-garde. Their first album, The Image Has Cracked, came out originally in 1978 and is a wholly unique piece of British post-punk. Beloved by John Peel, and close confidantes of Throbbing Gristle, Alternative TV is one of the most original and beguiling groups of the era. This classic is reissued here on 180-gram vinyl with two bonus tracks and a double-sided insert.
