Title: 60% Black
Label: GLIMPSE (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $9.00
Catalog #: GLIMPSE 003EP
"Third in a series of five. 60% Black's concept was to revert back to the essentials, preferring to create tracks that are framed around tight swinging drum and hat patterns and traditional sources of sound. The result is four tracks that maintain a minimal quality but still have a low-end push that underpins and drives them. This coupled with some mysterious narrative, freaky transposed vocals, and fluid jazz tinged melodies make for a beautiful blend of dance floor and post club listening. Support high profile DJ support confirmed by Richie Hawtin, Magda, Ricardo Villalobos, Steve Bug, Troy Pierce, Craig Richards, Oliver Ho & Marco Carola."

Title: 80% Black
Label: GLIMPSE (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $9.00
Catalog #: GLIMPSE 004EP
"This release reinforces their conscious move towards more song-based material. First up is their live edit of '100% Shiraz', which has been a highlight in their live set for the past six months. A haunting lone sax riff and soulful block melody drifts over deep lamenting chords all underpinned by a powerful groove that effortlessly delays and spirals through a range of effects. All the while accompanied by an urgent fluttering percussion that hovers constantly above the deep groove. The second track 'Mr. Go' is a less complex arrangement that although minimalist in nature still captures the energy required to push on and define your own objectives. And finally 'Nina' which is a semi-live acoustic bass heavy homage to the queen of blues with contemporary effect drenched production."

Title: 100% Black
Label: GLIMPSE (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: GLIMPSE 005EP
"Glimpse finishes the black series again with tracks of contrasting styles. The title track 'Caught On Train' is a direct strike at the dancefloor that has been a highlight in their recent live sets. Heavy analog melodic techno that tips its hat towards those classic chord days of old. Although slightly nostalgic, and made with the help of a certain Yamaha DX7, this track's intensity and ability to move the floor made it an immediate inclusion on the EP. 'It's The Little Things' moves the EP into our home listening. This track is quite self-explanatory and is more of an emotive vocal duet that encapsulates the struggle and conflict that we all go through at some stage in relationships. Produced incorporating live guitar and the beautiful voice of Patricia Wade, this track seems like a fitting end to the series. We hope you've enjoyed at least a part of it."

Title: The Masculine EP
Label: GLIMPSE (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: GLIMPSE 006EP
"'Masculine': This is a peak time track that relies on a razor blade synth line and a subtle Detroitesque bell melody. Essentially a rave track, it builds mysteriously using effects, and with simple programming, it pushes constantly upwards. Soft yet firm. Shy but forceful. A2: 'Love Rockit' Gospel techno. B1: 'Work': Simple, effective acid house. This has been a big track in his live set over the last 9 months. B2: 'Lonely Sundays': By nature this is a simple track that seems to work in a mysterious way when played live. It sets a mood in the room that is different to most other records on Glimpse and this is why it was chosen. The idea of something that hopefully bridges the gap between the modest faceless nature of lots of contemporary techno and something that is a song. Support: Konrad Black, Luciano, Laurent Garnier, Anja Schneider, Ricardo Villalobos, Craig Richards, Undo, Troy Pierce, Richie Hawtin, Fumiya Tanaka, Magda, Steve Bicknell."

Title: 5 Easy Pieces EP
Label: GLIMPSE (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $11.00
Catalog #: GLIMPSE 007EP
"The next record in the new series from Glimpse since his brilliantly received Masculine EP. Glimpse releases 4 outstanding new tracks yet again displaying the diversity of his sound and production. '5 Easy Pieces' is a conscious progression in his sound and identity, further chasing the essence of a song, while still retaining his trademark jacking rhythms and eye for description texture and detail. 5 Easy Pieces is a dynamic release that covers a broad pallet of sound, from the harsh synths under the divaesque vocals of Patricia Wade in 'Pushing Claude' to the sultry beauty of 'In My Soul' with his trademark hypnotic vocals weaving between deep chords courtesy of the DX7. For the first time on Glimpse, Christopher Spero asks for a remix from his good friend Undo (Factor City Records) who remixes '100% Shiraz.' Taken from Glimpse '80% Black.' The release also sees him team up with Matt Tolfrey (Leftroom records) for the final track 'Misunderstood,' a monster of a track with a beautiful acid line building to some pounding live piano and trumpet action."
