"Discovered and championed by Jay And The Americans, The Tuneful Trolley were a psych-pop sextet with a knack for writing and performing solid Beatles-esque rock. With a sizable following in their home base of Long Island, New York, The Tuneful Trolley released Island In The Sky in 1968 to national indifference, this despite containing all the elements of an instant smash. Island In The Sky is a glorious atoll, indeed, landscaped with fuzz guitars, oboes, melodic Beach Boys-esque harmonies, and garage pop sensibilities. All this from a band in their mid-teens! The lads wrote most of their material, and recorded their own tracks! This first-ever CD issue of their long-out-of-print Capitol LP is supplemented by rare Mono single mixes, none of which have ever been issued on CD. The 16-page color booklet also includes rare, unpublished photos and comprehensive liner notes that feature the participation of original band members.
