Holy grail hip-hop alert! Superstar Quamallah's Invisible Man was never released on wax so, to celebrate the 15th anniversary of this astounding record, Be With presents the first ever vinyl edition. A stunning record which gained accolades upon its initial release, such as a prominent feature on Gilles Peterson's renowned Best Of 2009 show, it's one of the most essential jazz rap albums of all time. Cut across double vinyl, it's exceedingly limited, with just 500 pressed for the world. Deep jazz rap on that mellow-melodic tip, Invisible Man is an unforgettable album with nothing but dope beats and dope bars. It supremely captures the essence of a golden age classic without being slavish to the past. Perfect to chill to, Invisible Man is profoundly jazz-oriented and captures with simplicity and sincerity the essence of hip-hop circa 1983-1994. Brooklyn-born, California-based emcee, DJ, and producer Superstar Quamallah was active in the West Coast underground scene throughout the '90s and recorded extensively with such revered names as Defari and Tajai. His parents were some serious artistic heavyweights, too; his father was soul organist Big John Patton, a giant in the jazz world known for his releases on Blue Note whilst his mother was an active designer. However, he remains relatively unknown. Invisible Man, named ostensibly after the classic Ralph Ellison novel, could also refer to how he is viewed by the public at large. With a laidback flow and deep, relaxing presence on the mic, Superstar Quamallah is equal parts Big Daddy Kane, Rakim, and Guru. Invisible Man is refined, soulful, feel-good hip-hop of the old school. Its wise, spiritual and literate sound, combined with the summertime vibes projected by the smooth beats and the nostalgia-inducing samples and vocal scratches, created jazzy boom-bap rap reminiscent of prime De La Soul, A Tribe Called Quest, and Gang Starr. This album was mastered for vinyl by Simon Francis, cut by Cicely Balston and pressed at Record Industry. Finally available on the format it should always have been on, it must never be rendered invisible again. Featuring restored artwork.

Enter your spaceship for a transatlantic meeting of minds as the legendary Kool Keith links up with We Are The Horsemen (Outernational Sounds head honcho Harvinder Singh Nagi and producer Sub One) and the great Kaidi Tatham for a future-jazz flavored trip through the great MC's London adventures. Kool Keith needs no introduction to hip-hop heads worldwide. As one of the greatest MCs ever to touch the mic, Keith has never stopped innovating and progressing. From his days in the seminal 1980s Bronx unit Ultramagnetic MCs, through his pioneering development of new conceptual characters and styles in the 1990s, to his continuous run of radically independent recordings in the 2000s and beyond, Kool Keith defines rap longevity and artistic originality. No one else in hip hop has a comparable record of continuous reinvention, conceptual boldness, and stylistic panache. And after four decades in rap, Keith is still one of the hardest working rappers in the game, perpetually seeking new sounds to spit on and new collaborators from across the musical spectrum. Fresh off the acclaim for his new Black Elvis 2 release, the protean MC has touched down on Outernational Sounds for a unique collab with We Are The Horsemen and Kaidi Tatham. London Is The Place finds Keith riding the Horsemen's atmospheric, break-toughened riddim and reaching back in time to drop kaleidoscopic, stream-of-consciousness impressions of the Ultramagnetic MCs infamous 1989 tour, before flashing forward to the present in order to namecheck Honest Jons Records, saxophone star Nubiya Garcia and master keyboardist and broken beat pioneer Kaidi Tatham, who contributes trademark jazz keys and bruk steez to the AA side remix. The 12" is closed out by a third version, the Horsemen's own "Kool Jazz Mix," bringing see-sawing organ stabs and a neck-snapping ultra-sampling hook. Kool Keith, Kaidi Tatham and We Are The Horsemen, taking it higher and overcoming the pressure with "music so progressive," to quote Keith himself.

Bahamadia's 1996 debut album Kollage is rightly regarded as one of the greatest rap albums of the 1990s. For the first time ever, Be With presents the definitive double LP version of this eternal hip-hop classic, including the legendary "Path To Rhythm" which never appeared on the original LP or on vinyl, anywhere. An indelible vibe from start-to-finish, Kollage presents Bahamadia's swirling rhymes delivered with an irresistibly butter flow and razor-sharp assuredness over a steady slew of smoothed-out, jazzed-up, blunted beats. Achingly cool and effortlessly funky throughout, it's an absolute must for true '90s hip-hop fanatics. The entire Kollage project was recorded at D&D Studios and the ties to Gang Starr are keenly felt, with DJ Premier producing five tracks in addition to the killer songs Guru had already produced with her. Working with the cream of the mid-'90s East Coast sound, Kollage is, accordingly, a record that demonstrates a varied musical taste with disparate influences. With intelligent, poetic lyricism and a laconic verbal style bursting with both warm texture and deceptive energy, Bahamadia's flow was as inspired by Aretha and Nancy Wilson as it was Q-Tip, Schoolly D and Lady B. Incredibly, only the European and Japanese CD versions of Kollage were released with the brilliantly breezy "Path To Rhythm," featuring Ursula Rucker. Whilst ostensibly a "bonus track," it's anything but. Very much in sonic conversation with KRS-One's stretched-out sleeper classic "Higher Level," it's absolutely essential. Somewhat predictably, whilst Kollage was released to significant critical acclaim, it suffered from disappointing sales. In the intervening years -- and for far too long -- it was a criminally underrated record, an increasingly hidden gem. This Be With double LP reissue has been mastered for vinyl by Simon Francis, cut by Cicely Balston, and pressed at Record Industry. It's too bold and beautiful to remain overlooked and underserved.

"Big Pun remains on the best rappers ever list to this day. Reasons for this weigh largely on his debut Capital Punishment which was released 25 years ago. His commanding voice and rapid-fire delivery make it clear there will never be another Big Pun. Pun was New York. His confidence on the mic made him stand out among his contemporaries. Similarly, the production -- by a cast of many -- remains ever so New York loyal. The close cousins 'I'm Not a Player' and 'Still Not a Player,' may have been the hits off this album but it is packed with so many more that show Pun's true abilities. 'Beware' and 'Dream Shatterer' are great examples of Big Pun at his best, dark cinematic production with just enough room to let him breathe fire. On 'Twinz (Deep Cover)' Big Pun is trading bars with his mentor Fat Joe over a remake of Dr. Dre's classic beat. Here Pun delivers one of his most quoted verses that contains among others 'Dead in the middle of Little Italy little did we know that we riddled some middlemen who didn't do diddly.' There are numerous guest appearances, the best of which include aforementioned Fat Joe (on several tracks), Black Thought of The Roots on the MC showcase 'Super Lyrical,' Prodigy and Inspectah Deck on 'Tres Leches (Triboro Trilogy),' and an extra-insane Busta Rhymes on 'Parental Discretion.'"

"Cappadonna is one of the original members of Wu-Tang Clan absent from their debut album Enter The Wu-Tang due to being locked up at the time of recording. Three years later he would get his chance to shine on Ghostface's debut Ironman. In 1997, Cappadonna was prominently featured on Wu-Tang's second album Wu-Tang Forever. The following year the spotlight was on Cappadonna for the release of his debut album The Pillage. With production overseen by the RZA and Wu producers True Mathematics, True Master, and Goldfinghaz, The Pillage dropped on March 24th, 1998 and was certified Gold one month later. From the classic opening track 'Slang Editorial' reporting on the streets to the closing track 'Black Boy' where Cappadonna spits lyrics about being a free man and rejoining the Wu, The Pillage is another classic Wu solo debut. To commemorate the 25th Anniversary of The Pillage, Get On Down presents, for the first time on vinyl since it was originally released in 1998, a limited edition pressing on double clear with black swirl colored vinyl in printed inner sleeves with a 25th Anniversary commemorative OBI limited to 2000 numbered copies."

"Unlike all DJ Yoda's artist albums, Breakfast Of Champions features the same collaborators on every track effectively putting together a band. The genesis of the project was in Manchester, where the legendary Band On The Wall venue asked him to host an artistic residency. He put a call out for local musicians, did auditions, and selected three rappers. Two were local to Manchester -- Truthos Mufasa and Sparkz. They were local legends making up parts of The Mouse Outfit and LVLZ. And the third was Rex Domino from down south, who was a British MC who Yoda thought would gel well with the other guys. They wrote, rehearsed and recorded intensively in Manchester -- performed a memorable series of live shows (including an epic Glastonbury show), and Yoda put the finishing touches to the album back in London after the fact. 'It was such an enjoyable experience' says Yoda. 'Lifelong friendships were made, and most excitingly two of the band members got together (James Breen, drummer, and Claire Northey, violinist) and had two kids! So there are Breakfast of Champions humans out there too!'"

"The contributions of the late Detroit producer James DeWitt Yancey -- better known to the world as J Dilla -- to the world of hip-hop can't be overstated, and nowhere is his legacy more apparent than his work as a member of Slum Village. A founding member of the trio, (alongside rappers T3 and Baatin) Dilla provided the groups distinctly esoteric, free-wheeling sound, built around winding basslines, quirky drumbeats, subtle low-end frequencies, and classic jazz and soul samples. After the success of Slum's 1997 studio debut, Fan-Tas-Tic Vol. 1, the group went to work on their follow up. Though the project was completed in '98, label turmoil kept the project on ice until 2000. By the time Fantastic Volume II hit, Dilla was well on his way to his status as a hip hop legend having produced cuts for Common, Busta Rhymes, Erykah Badu, A Tribe Called Quest, and many more. Later works from Slum Village may have had more of an impact sales-wise (in the immediate) but Fantastic Volume II had fans and many critics saying that Slum Village, and Dilla in particular, may single-handedly save rap music. Perhaps that statement is hyperbole but many consider Fantastic Volume II to be Slum Village's, and J Dilla's, finest work ever. Ne'Astra now presents the complete Dilla instrumentals from this landmark release."

"In the late '90s in hip hop, all eyes were on the South -- and the Down South sound reigned supreme. Few groups were as hot as Memphis' Three 6 Mafia. CrazyNDaLazDayz was a regional scorcher when it dropped in 1999, released under the group name Tear Da Club Up Thugs, but essentially a Three 6 Mafia full-length as core Three 6 members DJ Paul, Juicy J, and Lord Infamous all contribute to the project. The record went on to be certified Gold and Three 6 Mafia went on to win an Academy Award for their contribution to the film Hustle & Flow. CrazyNDaLazDayz continues to have an impact. A cut Juicy J first pulled together while still in high school, 'Slob On My Knob,' was utilized in A$AP Ferg's hit 'Plain Jane.' In addition, the cut is interpolated into G-Eazy's most successful cut to date, 'No Limit.' Get On Down brings you this often overlooked and definitely in need of being revisited portion of Three 6 Mafia's legacy."

"Get On Down announces a vinyl reissue of one of the West Coast's most revered, yet underrated, hip-hop classics and quite possibly one of the best hip-hop albums of all time: The D.O.C.'s No One Can Do It Better. Produced entirely by Dr. Dre and out of print on vinyl in the U.S. for several years, this limited-edition colored LP features original album artwork and thirteen tracks of rap heaven. When his debut album hit in mid-1989, The D.O.C. was in the vortex of the biggest hip-hop happening on the planet: the rise and rule of N.W.A. The group's breakout album Straight Outta Compton had hit one year prior and had created both controversy and worldwide critical acclaim. As rap history buffs and industry insiders know, The D.O.C. was a crucial behind-the-scenes member of the N.W.A. inner circle -- his most important role in the early days of the group was writing many of Eazy-E's rhymes, including his hit 1988 single 'We Want Eazy.' He would go on to write for Efli4zaggin, The Chronic, and Doggystyle. But The D.O.C. wasn't in N.W.A. and never wanted to be -- he was his own man, with his own vision. And after Compton proceeded to blow up the next crew album was No One Can Do It Better. Significantly, it was the first album where Dr. Dre showed his greatness as a solo producer for one MC. Boasting four singles -- 'The D.O.C. & The Doctor,' 'Mind Blowin',' the smash 'It's Funky Enough' and 'The Formula' -- the album is flawless from beginning to end. Of particular note beyond the singles is 'The Grand Finale,' which was the last time that Ice Cube, M.C. Ren and Eazy-E would rhyme on a track together. The D.O.C. showed on this amazing record that he was one of hip-hops most talented MCs. He nearly died in a horrific car crash as the album was catching fire in the late summer of 1989 which damaged his vocal cords, but he survived and continues to make new music and act as a sounding board for Dr. Dre to this day. More recently a documentary covering D.O.C.'s life titled The DOC debuted at the Tribeca Film Festival with fans eagerly awaiting a wider release. This album is a must have for any Hip-Hop fan."

SOUK 012LP

Always timely reissue of Muqata'a's first self-released EP from 2017. After years of fertile digital existence on his own Bandcamp, La Lisana Lah now gets a much-deserved tactile version through Souk, the Discrepant sublabel responsible for the already classic Inkanakuntu. One of the most prominent figures of the Palestinian electronic scene, Muqata'a's trajectory has been one of resistance and urgency, leaving a sonic imprint of his own from pretty much the beginning. Without anything tentative or vestigial about its sonic fictions, La Lisana Lah deploys an arsenal of Muqata'a's traits that would be explored on subsequent releases: the glitchy thick textures verging on noise of "Tib Al Huroof," the narcotic broken beats of "Taqdirahu Anta" and "Zyadet Naqs" or the alluring disruptive harmonic suspension of "Dijla Wal Fada," everything cared for with an essential attention to space and evoking the heritage of Palestinian resistance through his use of samples and scales. A visionary from the get go.

"Pressed on blue swirl and orange swirl colored vinyl, packaged in a gatefold jacket with printed fold out lyrics sheet. Originally released in the fall of 1993, Return of the Boom Bap is KRS-One's first official solo album. The album is pure '90s hip-hop filled with KRS-One's trademark conscious raps and storytelling with boom bap beats from the man himself, DJ Premier, Showbiz, and Kid Capri. The album kicks off with a trademark intro leading into 'Outta Here,' a tale about coming up in the '80s with a message to emcees not staying true to their roots. Throughout the album KRS-One tackles corrupt police, fake emcees, religion and provides some comical relief on 'I Can't Wake Up' where he dreams about being a blunt passed around by a who's who of '90s emcees and Bill Clinton! The album was selected as one of The Source's 100 Best Rap Albums and received a four mics rating in The Source in 1993. Get On Down is presents a limited edition pressing of Return of The Boom Bap to commemorate the 30th Anniversary of the blast master's classic debut solo album. Includes the bonus freestyle track 'Hip-Hop vs Rap' that was on the original 'Sound of Da Police' 12"."

"After breaking out of the Bay Area underground scene in the early '90s with I Wish My Brother George Was Here, Del The Funky Homosapien made a radical turn with his sophomore release, '93's No Need For Alarm. Casting aside the familiar G-funk vibe of his debut, perhaps as No Need was produced without the involvement of his cousin Ice Cube and The Boogiemen, he moved into a jazzier -- some would say more East Coast direction with production by the Hieroglyphics crew of Domino, A-Plus, Casual, and Del himself with contributions from the SD50s. The verbal content on No Need shifted as well, moving away from comic interludes and towards a focus on battle raps. No Need For Alarm is one of the three Hiero Golden Age releases (along with Souls of Mischief's '93 til Infinity and Casual's Fear Itself). Though some critics are harsh on No Need For Alarm and claim it's not as strong an effort as Del's debut, many disagree and see this release as being the first where Del really stood out. Regardless of which side of the fence one falls on that topic, it's without doubt that No Need For Alarm has stood the test of time and remains a challenging and uncompromising follow up from one of the most talented and eccentrically gifted artists to ever emerge from the world of West Coast hip hop. To commemorate the 30th Anniversary, Get On Down is presents a limited edition double colored vinyl pressing with a stamped numbered OBI and fold out poster."

"When Ruff Draft saw its initial release in 2003, J Dilla possessed production skills on par with anyone in hip-hop -- technically and creatively. 'At the top of his game,' says longtime friend and collaborator, Karriem Riggins. After years of building while modestly deferring to others of both greater and lesser notoriety, Dilla finally completed the first solo endeavor on his own label, entirely on his own terms. The significance of such an autonomous success often gets overlooked, and partly accounts for why Ruff Draft is one of the lesser-referenced entries in Dilla's oeuvre. 'It's a mysterious little project,' says his mother, Maureen Yancey. 'But out of his entire career, that was the happiest time.' Prior to recording the EP, Dilla found himself at a crossroads. Estranged from his label, MCA, and separated from the mother of his youngest daughter, frustration abounded both personally and professionally. Dilla spent parts of 2002 and 2003 working on an album for MCA that featured his rapping over contributions from other producers with whom he had connected and whose music he respected. At the time, he was known primarily for his beats, yet reviled for his MCing by most anyone not from his hometown of Detroit. The project was to be an intentional freak of the industry. The project would go on to spur his collaborative album with Madlib, Jaylib, and would first showcase the template that he would take to his greatest heights with 2006's Donuts. The Stones Throw reissue of Ruff Draft from 2008 featured remixes of the songs from the album, done without Dilla's involvement. This version of the album takes Dilla's mixes of the album and restores his vision for the project. 'Straight from the mothafuckin' cassette,' as he phrased the sound he was going for on the EP's intro."

Big Pun was truly larger than life and sadly passed away at the age of 28, only two months before the release of his sophomore studio album Yeeeah Baby. Yeeeah Baby was released on April 4, 2000, and was executive produced by Fat Joe and a roster of producers including Just Blaze, L.E.S., Buckwild, Younglord, and Sean C among others. The album, which would be Big Pun's final release was certified Gold after three months off the strength of the first two singles 'It's So Hard' and '100%,' and eventually certified Platinum. "Consisting of MCs A+, Phesto, Opio, and Tajai (with production by A+, Domino, Del the Funky Homosapien, Jay Biz and Casual), East Oakland's Souls of Mischief burst onto the scene in the early '90s with an impact that few other West Coast artists had at the time. Culminating in the release of their classic debut, they created a bouillabaisse that was most parts West Coast swagger but -- similar to The D.O.C. and Cypress Hill - with a sonic approach that could just as well have stepped off the streets of New York City. Recorded in less than two weeks at San Francisco's Hyde Street Studios, 93 'til Infinity doesn't suffer from a single freshman jitter or misstep. It's a fully-realized effort, packed from start to finish with ridiculous lyricism -- all carried out in impressive four-part, tag-team style -- and backed by a wide range of musical possibilities, from hard boom-bap to '70s CTI-jazz-sprinkled grooves. But without worthy music, the group's high-level lyricism could have fallen by the wayside. Digging deep into crates that other producers had yet to mine, the production crew gave the quartet exactly what they needed, with unpredictable rolling basslines, dusty drums and jazz keyboard and horn stabs and swirls. Get On Down is presents a 30th Anniversary pressing of this west coast hip-hop classic on cloudy blue and cloudy yellow vinyl, packaged in a gatefold jacket with liner notes and a commemorative 30th Anniversary stamped numbered OBI."

"Otis Jackson Jr. aka Madlib is one of hip hops most inspirational producer. With self-produced classic releases such as Quasimoto, Madvillain (with MF Doom), PiƱata (with Freddie Gibbs), Jaylib (co-produced with the great J Dilla), and Bad Neighbor (with Blu and MED), he proves he is in his own lane and the best at loop digging. Madlib doesn't disappoint and delivers heavy bangers on his new release Flying High Instrumentals. LMD (LMNO, MED, DECLAIME) provided a solid performance on the vocal version of 'Flying High' with stellar bars throughout the album, so it's only right BYH provides the beats to vibe to from the sensei himself, Madlib the Bad Kid."
