2008 release. Doug Willis is the alter ego of Dave Lee (also known as Joey Negro, amongst other names). Dave has been releasing his floor-filling Doug Willis EPs on his Z label since the early '90s. With titles like "Armed and Extremely Douglas," "Doug-ism," "Dougshit," and "Syndrum Syndrome" there is a sense of fun and humor in the music. The tracks themselves are heavy on the funk with hooky vocals, audacious bass lines, acid-tinged synths and clipped guitars. Doug's Disco Brain brings together 20 of the grooviest Doug Willis moments, many of which have never been available on CD before, plus there are a couple of brand-new remixes thrown in. Over the years Doug Willis cuts have been played by just about every house DJ: Gilles Peterson, Pete Tong, Ashley Beedle, Dimitri From Paris, Tony Humphries, Roger Sanchez, Sandy Rivera, Carl Craig, David Morales, Danny Rampling, Paul Oakenfold, CJ Mackintosh, Pete Heller, Danny Tenaglia, Kenny Dope have all dug some Doug. The full release is a double CD featuring 20 storming cuts. All the tracks are full-length club- and DJ-friendly versions representing exceptional value for your credit crunched pound, dollar, Euro, etc.
